This Privacy Policy describes how the Set Payments App protects your information. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. By using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this Policy.
1. Data Collection & Usage
What information does the app collect: The App requires you to input your UPI ID (e.g., name@bank) and specific financial amounts. Additionally, you may optionally provide a personal or business name.
Why we collect it: This data is collected strictly for the core functionality of the App, which is to generate a standard UPI QR code. If you choose to provide an optional personal or business name, it is used solely to embed the payee name directly into the generated QR code.
What we do NOT collect: We respect your privacy. Other than the optional payee name mentioned above, the App does not collect your phone number, email address, contact lists, passwords, or any other background personally identifiable information (PII).
Important Privacy Note: Any name or business name you choose to enter is stored entirely locally on your device. It is never transmitted over the internet or saved to any external servers.
2. Data Storage
Local Storage Only: Your entered UPI IDs, saved profiles, selected amounts, optional personal or business names, and custom payment notes are saved directly on your personal device using local storage (SharedPreferences).
No Cloud Servers: We do not own, operate, or connect to any databases, cloud servers, or backend infrastructure. Your data never leaves your physical device. Since all data is stored locally, it is automatically and permanently deleted from your phone if you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
No Internet Transmission: The App functions entirely offline and does not send any of your data to our servers.
Opening Third-Party Payment Apps: When you scan a UPI QR code using the App, it uses Android's native system (UPI Intent) to securely open compatible UPI payment apps already installed on your device (e.g., Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm). The App simply passes the scanned payment details directly to your chosen payment app. We do not process the payment, store the scanned UPI IDs, or track the transaction's success or failure.
Native Device Sharing: When you choose to click "Share QR Image," the App utilizes your phone's native Android sharing menu to hand the image to the OS. We do not track who you share the image with.
No Third-Party Analytics or Ads: We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, analytics companies, or any other third parties.
4. Device Permissions Used
To function properly, the App requires minimal interaction with your device's hardware and software:
Camera: The App requires camera access strictly for the in-app QR scanner to read existing UPI QR codes. The camera is used entirely locally in real-time, and no images or video recordings are ever captured, saved, or uploaded.
Storage/Cache: The App temporarily writes a PNG image file (payment_qr.png) to your phone's temporary cache directory for exactly one second. This is solely so the native Android share menu can access and share the generated QR code.
Vibration (Haptics): The App uses your device's vibration motor to provide haptic feedback during typing.
Permissions We Do NOT Request: The App does not request, nor does it have access to, your Microphone, GPS Location, or Contacts.
5. Children's Privacy
This app is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. The app does not collect information from children under the age of 13. Because all data is kept locally on the device, we do not store data from children and other individuals on any external servers.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes or updates will be published directly on this page. Since the App does not collect your contact information, we cannot notify you of these updates. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed of any changes.
