Data Storage

Local Storage Only

The extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:

1. License Information

   • Your email address (only if you activate a Pro license)

   • License key

   • License validation timestamp

2. Extension Settings

   • Your feature preferences (which protections are enabled/disabled)

   • Free vs. Pro status

3. Usage Statistics

   • Number of trackers blocked

   • Number of cookies deleted

   • Number of fingerprinting attempts blocked

   • Number of sites protected

Important: This data never leaves your device. We cannot access it.

Third-Party Services

Gumroad (Payment Processing)

When you purchase a Pro license, payment processing is handled by Gumroad, a third-party payment processor. Your payment information (credit card, billing address, etc.) is collected and processed solely by Gumroad, not by us.

What Gumroad collects:

• Your email address

• Payment information

• Purchase details

License Verification

When you activate a Pro license, the extension connects to Gumroad's API to verify your license key. This connection sends:

• Your license key

• Your email address

• Product identifier

This verification happens only when you click "Activate License" and is used solely to confirm you have a valid purchase.

What We DON'T Do

We do not:

web Request & declarative Net Request

• Why: Block trackers and unwanted requests before they load

• Data: None - only URLs are checked against blocking rules

tabs

• Why: Apply protection to all your open tabs

• Data: Only tab status (not tab content or URLs)

cookies

• Why: Auto-delete cookies when you close tabs (if enabled)

• Data: None - cookies are deleted, not collected

<all_urls> Host Permission

• Why: Protect all websites you visit

• Data: None - protection runs locally

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• You control it: Data remains until you uninstall the extension or clear Chrome's extension data

• We never see it: We have no access to your local data

• Easy to delete: Uninstall the extension or clear data via Chrome settings

Children's Privacy

Privacy Shield Pro does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect any data at all, the extension is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
