This policy explains what information Net Speed Check ("the app", "we", "our") accesses, how it is used, and who it is shared with. We wrote this to match exactly what the app does — not a generic template.
Net Speed Check measures your device's internet download and upload speed. It reads your approximate location and basic phone/network status so it can label each test with where and on what network it happened. All of this history is stored only on your device. We do not operate any server that receives it, we don't show ads, and we don't use any analytics or tracking SDK.

This is the speed test itself — the app downloads a file and uploads filler data to measure throughput.
Sent to third-party speed-test servers described below. This traffic does not include your location, phone number, or any personal data — it's just test payload.
Note: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, messages, or any account information — the app has no account or sign-in system.
Your test history (speeds, timestamps, location, signal strength) is saved in a local database on your device only. It is not synced to any cloud service we operate. It is excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup and device-transfer features, specifically so this history doesn't get copied off your device without your direct action. You can permanently delete it at any time via Android Settings → Apps → Net Speed Check → Storage → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the app.
To actually measure your connection speed, the app connects directly from your device to independent third-party servers. These connections work like any other internet request your device makes (e.g. visiting a website) — the operator of each server can see your IP address and standard connection metadata, the same as they would for any visitor. We do not send them your location or phone data; the app only exchanges test data (a downloaded file, or uploaded filler bytes) with them.
ThinkBroadband — used to download a test file to measure download speed. See thinkbroadband.com for their terms.
Cloudflare — used to upload test data to measure upload speed, via Cloudflare's public speed-test endpoint. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — to tag test results with location, as described above.
READ_PHONE_STATE — to read cellular signal strength.
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE — required to detect connectivity and run the speed test itself.
You'll see an in-app explanation before Android's permission prompts appear. You can decline these permissions; the app's core speed-test feature will still run, but results won't be tagged with location or signal strength.
The app does not include any advertising SDK and does not use any analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking service. No advertising identifier is collected.
Local test history remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Because we don't operate a server that stores your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our end — clearing app data or uninstalling removes it completely.
This app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version adds a server-based feature — we'll update this page and revise the effective date above.
