Privacy Policy for Minimalist Task Manager
Effective Date: January 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Minimalist Task Manager Chrome Extension ("the Extension") collects, uses, and stores your information.
WE DO NOT COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA
The Minimalist Task Manager Extension is designed with your privacy in mind. It operates entirely locally within your Chrome browser and does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information (PII) about you on our servers.
DATA COLLECTED AND STORED LOCALLY
The Extension stores the following information directly within your Chrome browser's local storage (chrome.storage.sync and chrome.storage.local):
1. Task Data: The text, completion status, creation date, and starred status of the tasks you add.
2. Google Calendar Data: If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, the extension fetches your event titles and times (Read-Only) to display them on the year grid. This data is stored locally on your device and is NEVER transmitted to the developer or any third-party server.
3. User Settings: Preferences including font size, dark mode, and meditation settings.
4. Productivity Statistics: Aggregated meditation session durations and task completion history (stored locally for personal insights only).
5. Quick Notes: Text content of your quick notes.
6. Calendar Events: Manual events you add to the Year Calendar overlay.
7. Pomodoro Timer State: The active state of your focus timer to persist across sessions.
HOW YOUR DATA IS USED
The data stored locally is used solely for the functionality of the Extension:
- To display and manage your tasks.
- To visualize your schedule density on the Year Calendar (via Google Calendar integration).
- To apply your chosen visual preferences.
- To provide productivity insights and meditation tracking.
GOOGLE USER DATA POLICY
The Extension's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Access: We access your Google Calendar data only with your explicit permission via OAuth 2.0 using the calendar.readonly scope.
- Storage: Data is cached locally in your browser for performance.
- Sharing: We do NOT share your Google Calendar data with anyone.
- Deletion: Disconnecting Google Calendar immediately deletes all cached tokens and event data from your local storage.
YOUR DATA IS NOT SHARED
The Extension does not send, share, or transmit any of your task data, calendar information, custom tool links, preferences, or any other data stored locally to any external servers, third parties, or the developer of the Extension.
DATA RETENTION & DELETION
- Local Storage: Your data is retained locally as long as the Extension is installed.
- Disconnecting: You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time by clicking the "Disconnect" button. This immediately deletes all cached calendar tokens and event data.
- Uninstalling: Removing the extension clears all stored data from your browser.
