Privacy Policy – Salesforce Migration Inspector
Date: 27 September 2026
Developer: Abdul Molla
Salesforce Migration Inspector is a free Chrome extension that helps Salesforce administrators and developers inspect, compare, export, and manage Salesforce metadata. This policy explains how the extension accesses, uses, and stores information.
Information the Extension Accesses
The extension accesses information needed to provide the features you use:
Authentication information: Your existing Salesforce session cookie is used to authenticate requests to your Salesforce org. The extension does not ask you to enter your Salesforce password.
User information: Salesforce names, usernames, user IDs, profiles, and permission information are accessed to display connection details and object and field permissions.
Salesforce URLs: Open tab URLs are examined to identify a Salesforce org. Salesforce page URLs and record identifiers are used to determine the current record context.
Metadata and page content: The extension reads Salesforce field labels, API names, developer names, record type information, relationships, picklist values, layouts, component references, formulas, Apex source and coverage information, and scheduled job details.
User-provided content: Spreadsheets selected for field mapping or bulk field creation, and text entered for code comparison, are processed to perform those actions.
Access to Salesforce information remains subject to your Salesforce session and the permissions granted to your account.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to provide the extension’s features, including:
Connecting to your Salesforce org.
Displaying field information on Salesforce record pages.
Inspecting metadata, dependencies, permissions, and code coverage.
Comparing fields and code.
Producing Excel exports.
Creating fields and applying selected profile permissions when you initiate Bulk Field Creation.
Bulk Field Creation sends the relevant field definitions and permission changes to your connected Salesforce org. Other inspection and comparison features do not automatically migrate your org.
Storage and Retention
Connection settings, including the selected Salesforce URL, API host, and session detection settings, are stored locally in Chrome.
Session cookie values are read when needed for authentication and are not saved as part of these extension connection settings.
Retrieved information and imported content are processed in the browser for the selected operation. Exported files are saved to your device and remain there until you delete them.
Using Disconnect removes the extension’s saved connection settings. It does not sign you out of Salesforce, revoke your Salesforce session, delete downloaded files, or undo changes made through Bulk Field Creation.
Data Sharing
The extension communicates directly with Salesforce to perform the features you request. It does not send your Salesforce metadata, session credentials, uploaded spreadsheets, or comparison content to a developer-operated server.
The developer does not sell or rent user data. The extension does not use user data for advertising, unrelated profiling, creditworthiness, or lending decisions.
The extension does not include advertising or third-party analytics services.
Browser Permissions
Cookies: Used to authenticate with your existing Salesforce session.
Storage: Used to retain local connection settings.
Tabs: Used to identify Salesforce tabs and open extension tools.
Salesforce host access: Used to communicate with Salesforce APIs and display extension features on supported Salesforce pages.
The extension does not maintain a general browsing-history log.
Security and Your Choices
Salesforce API requests use HTTPS. You control which features you run, which files you import, and which results you download.
You can disconnect the extension, restrict its site access through Chrome, or uninstall it. To end the underlying Salesforce session, sign out of Salesforce or use your org’s session management controls.
Downloaded files may contain confidential org information. Store and share them according to your organization’s policies.
External Links
The extension includes a link to the developer’s LinkedIn profile. Opening that link takes you to LinkedIn, where LinkedIn’s own privacy policy applies.
Limited Use
The extension’s use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the extension’s stated functionality.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when the extension’s functionality or data practices change. Updates will be published on this page with a revised date.
