Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information Document Scanner collects, how it is used, and your choices.
Document Scanner is designed to keep your documents on your device and in your own iCloud account. We collect as little data as possible.
Documents and scans — stored only on your device or in your personal iCloud account. We never upload your documents to our servers.
Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated events (e.g. "paywall viewed", "scan started") collected via Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app. No personally identifiable information is included.
Crash reports — anonymous crash logs via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs.
Purchase information — subscription and purchase status managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives your randomly assigned App Store customer identifier; we never receive your payment details.
Advertising identifier (IDFA) — used only if you consent to personalised ads (free users). Managed by Google AdMob.
To provide and improve the features of Document Scanner.
To process subscriptions and verify Pro access.
To diagnose crashes and fix bugs.
To show contextually relevant ads to free users (if ad consent is given).
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
All OCR (text recognition), document scanning, and PDF editing happen entirely on your device using Apple's Vision and PDFKit frameworks. No document content is ever sent to our servers or any third-party server.
If you enable iCloud sync, your documents are stored in your personal iCloud Drive using Apple's CloudKit. We have no access to your iCloud data; it is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Document Scanner uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:
Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google) — anonymous analytics and crash reporting.
RevenueCat — subscription management.
Google AdMob — advertising for free users.
Document Scanner is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We retain anonymous analytics data for up to 14 months in accordance with Google's default retention settings. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat for as long as needed to fulfil your subscription. You can request deletion of any data associated with your account by contacting us.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
