Privacy Policy for PlyyyAI – AI Text to Speech

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how PlyyyAI ("we", "our", or "us") handles your data when you use our mobile application. Our goal is to be transparent about what data is processed and to assure you that we do not collect or store any of your personally identifiable information.
PlyyyAI is an AI-powered text-to-speech application that transforms written content into audible speech. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not collect your name, email, or any other personal identifiers. We only process the text you provide temporarily for the purpose of delivering features like AI voice generation, text refinement, and article summarization.
We do not collect any personal data from our users. However, to provide PlyyyAI’s features, we process certain types of data as described below:
a. Anonymous User Identification (Firebase)
We use Firebase Authentication to assign a unique, anonymous identifier (UID) to your app installation. This UID is not linked to your personal identity. It is used solely to securely associate your conversion history, saved blog links, and credit balance with your device without knowing who you are.
b. Text for AI Processing
When you submit text for conversion, refinement (Quick Fix, Smooth Speak, Story Mode), or summarization, the text is sent to our third-party AI partners (Replicate and/or Google Gemini) for processing. This text is not permanently stored by us and is handled according to the privacy policies of our partners.
c. Scanned Text (On-Device OCR)
When you use the "Scan" feature, the text extraction from the image happens entirely on your device using Apple's built-in iOS vision framework. The image itself is never uploaded or sent to any server. Only the extracted text is then processed as described in section 2b.
d. Blog & Article URLs
When you share a URL to PlyyyAI from your browser, we store that URL in our Firebase Database, associated with your anonymous UID. This allows you to access your saved articles within the app for later listening.
PlyyyAI relies on trusted third-party services to function. Each service has its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
a. Firebase (by Google)
We use Firebase for core app functionalities, including:
Anonymous Authentication: To create your anonymous UID.
Firestore/Realtime Database: To store your conversion history (text only), saved blog URLs, and credit balance securely.

b. Replicate (AI Processing)
We use AI models hosted on the Replicate platform to perform high-quality text-to-speech conversions.
According to Replicate's policy, data sent for processing may be retained on their servers for a short period before deletion to improve their services and for operational purposes.

c. Google Gemini (AI Processing)
We use Google's Gemini models for advanced text-to-speech generation and our AI Refinement features.
Text sent to Gemini is processed according to Google's terms and policies.

d. Google AdMob (Advertisements)
We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements within the app, which allows us to offer features like earning credits by watching an ad.
AdMob may collect certain non-personal data (e.g., ad performance metrics, approximate location, device information) to serve relevant ads, in accordance with their privacy policies.

Conversion History & Saved Blogs: Your text conversion history and saved blog links are stored in Firebase and are only accessible through your device via your anonymous UID.
Downloaded Audio Files: Any audio files you choose to download are saved locally on your device's storage. We do not have access to these files, and they are not stored on any of our servers.
Although we do not store your personal data, we take user privacy seriously. We take the following steps to protect the data that is processed:
Using anonymous identifiers to avoid collecting personal information.
Ensuring sensitive processes like image scanning happen on-device.
Partnering only with trusted, major third-party services with public and transparent privacy policies.
Minimizing data exposure wherever possible.
PlyyyAI is not intended for or directed at children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect or process any data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used our app and provided any information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.
By using the PlyyyAI application, you consent to this Privacy Policy and the processing of your data as described herein.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
