This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use the "Anime Tracker PRO" application. We prioritize your privacy and aim to be transparent about how we process data to provide you with the best anime tracking experience, including secure cloud synchronization.
1. Information Collection and Syncing To enable secure, multi-device synchronization of your anime watchlist, this application utilizes Google Firebase services.
Authentication (Google Sign-In): When you use the cloud sync feature, we use Google Authentication. Firebase Authentication processes identity data (such as your Google ID) provided by Google to securely create and identify your account. This data is handled exclusively by Google Firebase.
Firestore Database: Your personal watchlist data, including series categorization (Watching, Completed, Plan to Watch, etc.), episode progress, and private notes, is stored securely in Google’s Cloud Firestore. This data is associated strictly with your unique User ID (UID) provided by Firebase Authentication. We enforce strict Firestore security rules to ensure that only you can access or modify your own data.
We do not host or manage your personal anime list data on our own private servers. All synchronization data is stored and processed within Google's secure Firebase cloud infrastructure.
2. Device Permissions To function effectively, the application may require the following permissions:
Internet/Network Access (WiFi/Cellular Data): strictly required to:
Query the Jikan API to retrieve public anime information (synopses, images, trailers).
Synchronize your personal watchlist data with Google Cloud Firestore.
Load advertisements via Google AdMob.
Notifications: Required to send you alerts for new episode releases via WorkManager and other app-related reminders.
Flashlight/Camera: NOT REQUIRED.
3. Third-Party Services We utilize trusted third-party services which have their own privacy policies:
Google Firebase (Auth & Firestore): Used for secure login and real-time cloud synchronization. Firebase processes identity data and your watchlist content under strict security protocols.
Jikan API: Used to fetch public anime data. No personal information or User ID is ever transmitted to Jikan.
Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect certain information (such as your device’s advertising ID) to show relevant ads. You can manage personalized advertising settings on your device.
Firebase Crashlytics: [Optional, remove if not implemented] Used to monitor app stability and debug crashes in real-time. This does not collect PII.
4. Data Usage and Security Any data processed within the application for core features (such as chosen UI themes or SFW PIN code settings) that are not synchronized to the cloud remains stored locally on your device. We enforce strict data security on our Firebase Firestore integration (UID-based protection) to safeguard your synchronized data.
5. Data Retention and Deletion You can delete your synchronized data at any time directly through the application's settings by deleting your account link, or by sending a deletion request to the contact email below. Deleting your account will remove your personal data associated with your UID from the Firestore database.
6. Children's Privacy The application does not intentionally target children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated "Effective Date".
8. Disclaimer The application is provided "as is". While we implement strict security measures (Firebase security rules, R8/Proguard obfuscation), we cannot guarantee 100% cloud service uptime or complete effectiveness in all network environments. The app's performance may be impacted by third-party API availability or device-specific background battery restrictions.
