WeatherVale is provided by [DEVELOPER OR COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information WeatherVale accesses, collects, uses, stores, and shares when you use the application.
WeatherVale can use your device’s approximate or precise location when you choose Use My Location. Location access is optional; you can instead search for a city manually.
When you use device location, coordinates are sent securely to OpenWeather to identify the location and retrieve current weather and forecast information. When you search manually, your search query and the selected location’s coordinates are sent to OpenWeather for geocoding and weather retrieval.
Selected and saved locations, including their coordinates, are stored locally on your device. Your primary location may be used by scheduled background weather updates, notifications, and home-screen widgets. WeatherVale does not request background-location permission or continuously track your physical location.
OpenWeather states that it does not store API request parameters such as locations, city names, IP addresses, or user agents. See the OpenWeather Privacy Policy.
WeatherVale uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how people use the app and to improve its features. Analytics may process:
App interactions and feature usage
Session and engagement information
Device type, operating system, app version, and language
Approximate geographic information
A pseudonymous app-instance identifier
General settings categories and usage statistics
WeatherVale does not intentionally send Firebase Analytics precise coordinates, city names, location-search text, notification content, names, email addresses, phone numbers, or custom user identifiers.
The app is configured not to collect the Android Advertising ID and not to use Analytics data for personalized advertising. WeatherVale does not display advertising.
Google processes Analytics information according to its applicable terms and privacy policies. Learn more from Google Analytics data collection and Firebase privacy information.
WeatherVale stores app information locally on your device, including:
Saved and primary weather locations
Weather and forecast snapshots
Unit, accessibility, audio, and notification preferences
World progression, Growth, streak, daily-task, and discovery status
Feature-hint and engagement-prompt status
Notification history and scheduling information
Home-screen widget snapshots
Downloaded music, ambience, and sound-effect files
This information supports app functionality and persistence across restarts. It is not synchronized to a WeatherVale account because WeatherVale currently has no account or cloud-sync system.
When you enable music, scenery ambience, or interaction sounds, WeatherVale downloads audio files through a Cloudflare-hosted content-delivery endpoint and stores them locally for offline playback.
Cloudflare may process standard network information such as IP address, request time, and technical request metadata when delivering these files. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
With your permission, WeatherVale can provide local notifications such as morning forecasts, tomorrow’s outlook, significant weather changes, and world reminders.
Scheduled background work may contact OpenWeather using the coordinates of your stored primary location. WeatherVale does not use Firebase Cloud Messaging and does not send notification text to an external notification server.
You can disable notifications through WeatherVale’s settings or Android system settings.
If you intentionally enable music or scenery ambience, WeatherVale uses an Android foreground media service so playback can continue while the app is in the background or the screen is locked. Android displays media controls that allow you to pause or stop playback.
Audio does not start automatically on first launch.
WeatherVale’s Android home-screen widgets use locally stored weather and world snapshots. Widget rendering does not independently request weather data. Tapping a widget opens WeatherVale.
The Share WeatherVale feature opens your device’s native sharing interface with prepared text and a store link. WeatherVale does not receive information about the recipient or know whether the content was sent.
The rating feature opens Google Play or invokes Google Play’s native in-app review interface. Google handles these interactions under its own privacy policies.
We use information to:
Display weather for your selected location
Search for and resolve locations
Provide forecasts and weather-driven visuals
Operate notifications and home-screen widgets
Save preferences and persistent world progress
Download and play optional audio
Understand feature usage and improve WeatherVale
Maintain app reliability and prevent abuse

We do not sell or rent personal information.
Information is transmitted only as necessary to service providers supporting WeatherVale:
OpenWeather for geocoding, current weather, and forecast data
Google Firebase and Google Analytics for app-usage measurement
Cloudflare for delivery of downloadable audio files
Google Play services for reviews, store functionality, and applicable Android platform services
These providers process information according to their respective terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information if legally required or necessary to protect users, our rights, or the security of the service.
Locally stored information remains on your device until you remove it through available app settings, clear WeatherVale’s app data, or uninstall the app.
Downloaded audio can be deleted through WeatherVale’s audio settings.
Analytics information is retained according to our configured Google Analytics retention settings and Google’s applicable policies. Because WeatherVale does not use accounts and does not associate analytics with your name or email address, we may be unable to identify a particular analytics record as belonging to you.
You may contact us regarding a privacy or deletion request using the address below.
WeatherVale uses HTTPS when communicating with OpenWeather, Firebase, and its audio-delivery service. Local information is stored within the application’s private device storage.
No security system is completely reliable, but we use reasonable measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, loss, or disclosure.
You can:
Decline location permission and use manual city search
Revoke location permission through Android settings
Disable notifications in WeatherVale or Android settings
Keep music, ambience, and interaction sounds disabled
Delete downloaded audio
Remove saved locations where supported
Clear all local WeatherVale data through Android settings

Some features may not operate without the information or permissions needed to provide them.
WeatherVale is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age applicable in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through WeatherVale, contact us.
Service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy and data-protection laws in those countries may differ from your local laws.
