Local Storage

All your financial data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database (Room). Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly:

• Enable cloud backup (optional)

• Export a backup file manually

Encryption

• Your data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption

• Encryption keys are stored securely in the Android Keystore

• Backup files are encrypted with your chosen password

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties.

Your data is yours alone. We do not share your financial data with:

• Data brokers

• External analytics providers (current state)

Future Analytics

In the future, we may add analytics to improve the app experience. If and when we do:

5. Third-Party Services

Exchange Rate API

Spendly fetches currency exchange rates from a public API to convert between currencies. This involves sending only the currency codes (not your expense amounts) to obtain rates.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable cloud sync with providers like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive:

• Encrypted backup files are stored in your personal cloud storage

• We do not have access to unencrypted data

• Access your data at any time

• Export your data in a portable format

• Delete all your data (via app settings or by uninstalling)

• Disable biometric lock and cloud features

Spendly can be used by users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
