This Privacy Policy explains how Smart Vid Downloader (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App.
1) Key points (Summary)
The App saves downloaded videos to your device.
The App shows ads via Google AdMob and uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for measurement and stability improvements.
The App has no login and we do not ask you to provide social platform passwords.
2) Information we collect
Automatically collected information (via SDKs)
Because we integrate Google SDKs, certain data may be collected automatically:
A) Firebase Analytics (App measurement) may collect:
App instance identifiers and device/app info (e.g., app version, OS, device model, language).
Device identifiers (for example, Android Advertising ID may be collected by Firebase SDK by default, depending on your implementation and device settings).
B) Firebase Crashlytics (Crash reporting) may collect:
Crash diagnostics such as stack traces, device state, OS version, app version, time of crash, and performance signals needed to troubleshoot issues.
We do not intentionally set a user identity in Crashlytics (no account/login), unless you later add such a feature.
C) AdMob (Advertising / measurement) may collect:
Advertising ID and other ad-related signals used for ad delivery, frequency capping, reporting, and fraud prevention.
Basic device information and IP-derived signals to deliver ads and measure performance.
3) How we use information
We use collected information to:
Provide core download functionality you request.
Show ads and measure ad performance.
Understand app usage to improve UI/UX and features.
Detect and fix crashes and stability issues.
4) Sharing of information
We may share information with:
Google as our service provider for Ads (AdMob) and analytics/crash reporting (Firebase).
Other third parties only when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and prevent fraud/abuse.
We do not sell your personal data.
5) Advertising, consent, and your choices
5.1 Advertising ID & ad personalization controls
You can reset or limit ad personalization on your device (Android settings for Ads/Privacy).
If you opt out of ad personalization, ads may still be shown but can be less relevant.
5.2 EEA/UK/Switzerland consent (GDPR/ePrivacy)
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we may request your consent for ad-related storage/identifiers and (where applicable) personalized ads, and provide a way to manage privacy choices. Google requires use of a Google-certified CMP in these regions for certain ad serving scenarios.
6) Data retention
Analytics & crash data: retained according to Google/Firebase retention settings and only as long as necessary for the purposes described.
7) Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect data, including secure network transport (HTTPS) where applicable and restricted access to analytics/crash dashboards.
8) Children’s privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9) Copyright & acceptable use
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to download and use any content. The App is intended for downloading content you own or are authorized to use.
10) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the Effective Date and provide notice if changes are significant.
