Real Melodica ("we", "our", "the app") is a Melodica simulator developed by Asywalul Fikri. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices, for both the Android and iOS versions.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
Real Melodica does not require an account or login. The only information you can choose to provide is a name, when you submit a recording to our community tutorial library — this name and the recording data are stored in our database (Google Cloud Firestore) and may be displayed publicly alongside the recording. You may skip this feature entirely and use the app without ever providing a name.
Information collected automatically
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to automatically collect:
App usage data — screens viewed, features used, session length
Device information — device model, operating system version, language, and general/coarse location derived from IP address
Crash and diagnostic data — crash logs and stack traces, to help us find and fix bugs
This data is not used to personally identify you.
Advertising data
We use Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob and its partners may collect:
Your device's advertising identifier (Android GAID, or iOS IDFA where permitted — see Section 3)
IP address and general/coarse location
App usage data related to ad performance
2. Firebase Services We Use
Firebase Analytics — usage analytics described above
Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting described above
Cloud Firestore — stores content you voluntarily submit (recording + name) to the community tutorial library
Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications to your device using a device token; this token identifies your app install, not you personally

3. Third-Party Advertising & Your Choices
We use Google AdMob, together with the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP), to serve ads and manage consent:
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, a consent form appears on first launch letting you choose what data can be used for ads, per GDPR.
On iOS, before your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is used, we request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. You can review or change your choice anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On Android, you can reset or opt out of the advertising identifier in your device's Google Settings → Ads.

4. Device Permissions
Android:
Storage / Audio files (READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — lets you browse and select MP3 files already on your device for the "jam-along" music player. Files are read locally and never uploaded anywhere.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — lets us deliver push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Internet / Network state — required for ads, Firebase, and submitting recordings to the tutorial library.
iOS:
App Tracking Transparency — described in Section 3.
No other device permissions (camera, contacts, or location) are requested. Real Melodica "recording" feature saves the sequence of notes you play as data, not an audio capture of your microphone.
5. Data Retention & Your Choices
We retain analytics and crash data per Google Firebase's standard retention periods. Recordings and names submitted to the community tutorial library are kept until removed. To request deletion of a name or recording you submitted, contact us using the email in Section 7.
6. Children's Privacy
Real Melodica is not directed at children under 13 and is not part of Apple's Kids Category or Google Play's Designed for Families program, as it serves personalized advertising. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, with the "Last updated" date revised accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
