1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using PDF Reader & Office Tools ("the Application" or "Service"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not install, access, or use the Application.

These Terms govern your use of the Application. For information regarding how we handle, collect, and protect your data, please refer to our separate Privacy Policy.

2. Description of Services & Document Tools

The Application provides tools for viewing, managing, and processing documents locally and online, including:

• Document Viewing: Viewing support for PDF, TXT, Word, PPT, and other compatible formats; customizable reading modes (horizontal/vertical scroll, Dark Mode).

• Editing & Annotation: Local text file (TXT) editing, note management, and page bookmarking.

• Advanced File Utilities:

  • Scanning physical documents via device camera or importing photos (Scan PDF / Image to PDF).

  • Splitting PDF files into pages, merging multiple documents, and compressing file size.

  • Creating, applying, and managing electronic signatures.

• Device Integration: Home screen shortcuts/widgets, local folder organization, and external storage (SD Card) indexing.

3. File Access, Processing & Privacy Safeguards

• On-Device Local Processing: All core operations—including document viewing, file conversion, compression, merging, splitting, and signature stamping—are performed locally on your device. We do not transmit, inspect, or store your documents, scanned files, or images on our servers.

• Scoped Storage & Permissions:

  • All Files Access / Storage Permission: Used strictly for the core function of indexing, displaying, viewing, and modifying user-designated document files (such as .pdf, .docx, .pptx, .txt). The Application does not access, read, or collect unrelated personal media, photos, audio files, or system directories.

  • Camera: Required solely to capture documents when you actively initiate the scanning feature.

  • Push Notifications: Used solely for local utility alerts (e.g., file completion alerts, document reminders). You can disable notifications at any time via in-app settings or your device system settings.

4. Electronic Signature Disclaimer & Biometric Protection

• Local Storage of Signatures: Any digital signature created within the Application is saved strictly within the private local app sandbox on your device. It is never uploaded to remote servers or shared with third parties.

• Legal Enforceability Disclaimer: The signature feature is provided for convenience. Tankyo Limited makes no representation or warranty regarding the legal validity, binding nature, or admissibility of signatures created using this Application under the electronic transaction laws of any specific jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for verifying legal compliance before executing formal or legally binding documents.

5. In-App Purchases, Subscriptions & Cancellation

• Purchases & Billing: The Application may offer optional premium features (e.g., advanced compression, unlimited file conversions, ad-free experience) accessible via one-time purchases or recurring auto-renewable subscriptions. All financial transactions are processed securely through the Google Play Store (or respective app distribution platform).

• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the renewal date.

• Managing & Cancelling Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time directly through your store account:

  • Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.

  • Tap your profile icon at the top right > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.

  • Select this Application and tap Cancel subscription.

• Refunds: All refund requests are subject to Google Play’s official refund policies.

6. Third-Party Advertisements & Privacy Consents

• Ad Networks: The free version of the Application may display ads delivered by reputable third-party advertising partners (such as Google AdMob). These ads may appear as banners, native components, open-app screens, or interstitials.

• GDPR / Regional Consent: For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or regions with applicable data protection laws, a Consent Management Platform (GDPR consent prompt) is provided to let you choose between personalized and non-personalized advertising.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

• Use the Application to modify, store, or transmit any document or content that violates applicable laws, infringes on third-party intellectual property or privacy rights, or contains malicious code.

• Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, decrypt, or attempt to derive the source code of the Application.

• Interfere with, circumvent, or disable any security features, DRM controls, or premium access restrictions within the Application.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

• "As-Is" Warranty: The Application is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive for performance and reliability, Tankyo Limited does not warrant that document conversions, compression ratios, or formatting fidelity will be error-free or compatible with all custom file structures.

• Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tankyo Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including data loss, file corruption, device damage, or operational interruptions resulting from your use of the Application. You are responsible for keeping independent backups of your important files.

9. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at our discretion. Any revisions will be published within the Application and become effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
