This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application "OVERDRIVE" (hereinafter "App" or "Game"), available for download via the Google Play Store. It informs users about which personal data is processed when using the App, for what purposes, and what rights users have.
The App is free to use and is aimed at a general audience. The App is financed through the display of advertising via the Google AdMob service.
When using OVERDRIVE, the following data may be processed:
Device information: device type, operating system version, unique advertising identifier (e.g. Google Advertising ID / GAID)
Usage data: interactions with ads (impressions, clicks), approximate location (based on IP address, if used by AdMob)
Game data: high scores, achievements, and progress, if Google Play Games Services is used
IP address: transmitted automatically with every internet connection for technical reasons (e.g. when loading ads)
The App itself does not directly collect a user's name, address, or similar identifying data.
OVERDRIVE uses the advertising service Google AdMob, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter "Google").
AdMob is used to display advertisements within the App. In doing so, the following data may be transmitted to and processed by Google:
Device advertising identifier (Advertising ID)
IP address
Device and app information
Ad interactions (e.g. impressions, clicks)
Google uses this data, among other things, to:
Deliver ads and measure their effectiveness
Prevent fraud and abuse
Display interest-based (personalized) advertising, unless the user has objected to or not consented to this
Data transfer to the USA: Google also processes data on servers located in the USA. Google relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or other appropriate safeguards under Art. 46 GDPR to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
Legal basis: Processing is based on the user's consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which is obtained prior to displaying personalized ads via a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform / UMP SDK). Non-personalized ads may be displayed on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Users can object to personalized advertising or manage their settings at: https://adssettings.google.com
If features such as leaderboards (high scores) or achievements are used within the App, this is done via Google Play Games Services, also a service provided by Google Ireland Limited.
The following data may be processed:
Google Account ID (pseudonymized)
Game progress, high scores, achievements
Public name/display name of the Google Account (if made visible by the user for leaderboards)
Use of this feature requires signing in with a Google Account and is additionally subject to the terms of use and privacy policy of Google Play Games Services: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Legal basis: Performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), as the feature is actively used by the user by signing in.
The App is intended for a general audience and is not specifically targeted at children. No child-directed ad settings (e.g. "Ads for Families") are used. Should the App nevertheless be used by children under 13, we ask parents/guardians to take this into account and contact the data controller if necessary.
Data collected is shared exclusively with:
Google Ireland Limited (AdMob, Play Games Services) for the purposes described above
Data is not disclosed to any other third parties unless required by law.
Data is only retained for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as provided for under the respective privacy policies of the services used (Google AdMob, Google Play Games Services). The data controller does not store any of the above data on its own servers.
Under the GDPR, users have the following rights:

Device settings (e.g. "Opt out of Ads Personalization" under Android Settings → Google → Ads)
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements or changes to the App or the services used. The version current at the time of access shall apply.
