Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 9, 2026
One Line (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a simple daily journaling app that helps users capture one reflective sentence per day to build a personal story of calm and self-awareness. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any personal information you may share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide:
Journal Entries: The single sentences you write each day (“Today I felt…” or similar).
Mood Selections: Icons or emojis you choose to represent your daily mood (e.g., heart, smile, plant, sparkle, sun).
Usage Data: Streaks, total lines written, longest streak, and other progress statistics generated from your entries.
Any other content you voluntarily enter while using the App.
Automatically Collected Information:
Basic device information (e.g., device type, operating system version, app version) for troubleshooting and analytics.
Usage statistics (e.g., how often you open the app, which features you use) to improve the user experience. We do not collect precise location data, contacts, photos, or microphone/camera access unless explicitly needed for a feature (none of which are required for core functionality).
No Account Required:
The App does not require user accounts, email registration, or login. All your entries are stored locally on your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide and maintain the core features of the App (writing lines, tracking streaks, viewing stats and reflections).
Generate personalized insights and progress summaries.
Improve the App through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.
Respond to your support requests.
We do not use your journal entries or mood data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the service to you.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share information only in the following limited cases:
With service providers who assist in app hosting, analytics, or crash reporting (e.g., Firebase, Google Analytics for Firebase, or similar tools), under strict confidentiality agreements. These providers are prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
When required by law, court order, or government request.
In the event of a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or sale of assets), your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, with notice where required.
Export Feature: You can export your own data at any time via the “Export data” button in Settings. The exported file is saved locally on your device.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your journal entries and personal data are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers by default.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data on your device and any limited data processed through third-party services.
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for the security of your own device.
5. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we may have collected information from a child, please contact us at the email below.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Access, Delete, or Export: You can view, edit, or delete your entries directly in the App. Use the “Export data” and “Reset data” options in Settings.
Opt-Out: You may stop using the App at any time and uninstall it to prevent further data collection.
Data Portability: Your exported data is yours to keep and move.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the App and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
