Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 7 September 2022 Last Updated: 30 July 2025
Soft Clouds publishes various navigation and location-tracking apps, including GPS Tracker & Family Locator, as ad-supported applications. These services are provided at no cost and are intended for use as-is.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our apps, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information Collection and Use
To support core app features and enhance user experience, we may collect the following types of data:
Precise Location (GPS): This includes real-time location data and historical movement data. This is essential for the core functionality of our navigation and family locator apps, enabling features like live tracking and location sharing.
Device and App Information: This includes device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID (AAID) or other device IDs), operating system version, device model, language settings, and performance metrics (e.g., battery usage, app responsiveness). This data helps us optimize app performance, ensure compatibility, and personalize advertising where permissible.
Log Data: This includes session duration, crash logs, general usage patterns within the app (e.g., features accessed, frequency of use), and IP addresses. This data helps us understand app usage, diagnose issues, and improve our services.
Some information is collected by us directly, and some through trusted third-party services listed in Section 3.
2. Permissions and In-App Disclosures
Our apps may request the following permissions to function properly:
Location Permissions (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION): These permissions are crucial for the app's core functionality of live tracking and location sharing.
Foreground Service Permission (FOREGROUND_SERVICE): This permission allows the app to perform critical operations, such as continuous location tracking, even when the app is in the background, ensuring uninterrupted service for features like real-time family tracking.
Internet and Network Permissions (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): These are necessary for data transmission, accessing maps, displaying ads, and communicating with our servers and third-party services.
Notification Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, if applicable): This allows us to send important notifications, such as location alerts or app updates.
Important In-App Disclosure for Location Data: Before requesting any sensitive permissions, particularly for precise location (GPS), our app will provide a clear and prominent in-app disclosure. This disclosure will explain:
What data is being collected: For example, "Your precise location data."
Why it is being collected: For example, "to enable live tracking and location sharing with your family members."
How it will be used and shared: For example, "Your location will be shared only with members you explicitly connect with within the app for personal safety and coordination purposes."
The user's choice: You will be prompted to grant or deny this permission, and your consent will be obtained before any precise location data is collected or shared.
All permissions are requested for core functionality only and not for any unrelated purposes.
3. About GPS Tracker & Family Locator
GPS Tracker & Family Locator is designed to help users stay safely connected with people they trust.
Location sharing is enabled only with the explicit consent of connected members. Users have full control over who they share their location with.
Users are required to obtain explicit permission from individuals before tracking or sharing anyone’s location. This ensures mutual agreement and privacy.
The app is intended for personal safety and coordination purposes, such as knowing the whereabouts of family members for safety or meeting up.
Location accuracy may vary depending on GPS signal strength, device settings, and environmental conditions.
This app is not a replacement for emergency services. In an emergency, always contact appropriate local authorities.
4. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, and push notifications. These services may collect information such as device identifiers and usage data in accordance with their own privacy policies. Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies of these third-party services for a comprehensive understanding of their data practices.
Third-party services used in our apps include:
Google Play Services: For core Android functionalities.
AdMob (Google): For serving advertisements.
Firebase Analytics (Google): For understanding app usage and performance.
Firebase Crashlytics (Google): For crash reporting and app stability.
OneSignal: For sending push notifications.
AppLovin: For serving advertisements.
Mapbox: For mapping services.
Facebook SDK (if used): For analytics or advertising, depending on integration.
Advertising Policy: As our apps are ad-supported, these third-party advertising services may use collected data (e.g., Device ID, AAID) to personalize ads. However, for any user identified as a child or whose age is unknown where required by policy (e.g., in apps potentially used by children), we ensure that ad requests are appropriately tagged to prevent interest-based advertising and remarketing, and to serve only content-appropriate ads.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our apps do not use cookies directly. However, third-party tools integrated into our apps (such as advertising and analytics SDKs) may use cookies or similar technologies (e.g., pixel tags, local storage) to improve their services, including for ad personalization, analytics, and service functionality.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain user data only for as long as necessary to provide core app functionality, improve our services, or comply with legal obligations.
For GPS Tracker & Family Locator, users may request account and data deletion at any time. To initiate a deletion request:

7. Children’s Privacy
Our services are generally intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that a child under 13 has submitted personal information without proper consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our servers.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at thejinnyapps@gmail.com to request removal. For apps where there might be a mixed audience (potentially including children), we take additional steps, such as configuring our third-party SDKs (especially advertising SDKs) to comply with children's privacy regulations (e.g., COPPA, GDPR) to ensure that data collection and ad serving practices are appropriate for children.
8. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
9. Links to Other Sites
Our apps may contain links to external websites or services that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of these third-party sites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage users to check back regularly to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
