Medicus is an educational app for NEET UG aspirants. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
We designed the App to work with little to no personal data (No sign in required).
None by default. We do not require an account or any personal details to use core features.
If you contact us: Email address and the content of your message.
Diagnostics & performance (crash logs, app version, device model, OS version) — used to find and fix bugs.
Basic, aggregated analytics (e.g., screens visited, session length) — used to improve features and stability.
Provider(s): Google Play services / Google Play Console pre-launch/Android Vitals (and similar).
We do not collect: precise location, contacts, SMS, microphone, or photos unless you explicitly use a feature that needs them (see “Permissions” below).
Study progress, bookmarks, and preferences may be stored locally on your device (offline). Deleting the App removes this local data.
[If you add sign-in]: name, email (via Google/Email login) to sync progress across devices.
[If you add ads]: ad identifiers may be used by AdMob or similar for delivering/limiting ads and preventing fraud.
[If you add cloud sync]: study data synced to your account for backup.

We process data as needed to provide the service, improve it (legitimate interests), and with consent where required (e.g., optional features). We aim to comply with applicable laws, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). If you’re in another region, local rights may also apply.
We do not sell your personal data. Limited data may be shared with:
Service providers (e.g., analytics, crash reporting) under contracts that restrict use.
Legal compliance: if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Third-party services we may use (examples):
Google Play Console / Android Vitals (quality metrics, crashes)

Each provider processes data per their own policies.
Support emails: kept as long as needed to handle your request, then archived/deleted.
Diagnostics/analytics: retained for a limited period needed to analyze app performance.
On-device data: remains on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall.
The App is intended for NEET UG aspirants. If you are under 18, use the App with parent/guardian consent and supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a minor has provided personal data, contact us to delete it.
Opt out of analytics (where available): Use in-app toggles or your device settings (e.g., “Reset advertising ID”, “Limit ad personalization”).
Access/Correction/Deletion: Email us and we will help you access or delete information we hold about you (primarily support emails and diagnostics tied to your device/app version, not your identity).
Withdraw consent: If a feature relied on consent (e.g., sign-in, ads), you can disable it in-app and/or contact us.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data (encryption in transit, least-access controls). No method is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your information.
Service providers may process data in countries outside your own. We take steps to ensure appropriate protections when data is transferred internationally.
Internet: to load content, check updates, and send crash/analytics events.
[If you use Notifications] Post Notifications: to remind about study goals, tests, or updates (you can turn this off).
[If you add media export/import] Photos/Media/Files (read/write): only when you choose to import/export notes or save PDFs.
[If you add camera/voice] Camera/Microphone: only for features you start (e.g., scanning questions, voice search).
We request permissions only when needed and you can revoke them in system settings.
The App may link to external resources (e.g., official exam info). Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies.
We may update this Policy as we add features or due to legal changes. We’ll update the “Effective date” above and, when appropriate, notify you in-app.
