Introduction

Circle Mesh Limited ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Glasses Scanner mobile application (the "App").

We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining transparency about how your information is handled. This Privacy Policy explains how our application collects, processes, uses, and safeguards information when you use Glasses Scanner.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our privacy practices.

By downloading, installing, or using Glasses Scanner, you acknowledge the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Privacy-First Architecture

Glasses Scanner is designed with a privacy-first architecture that prioritizes user privacy, local data processing, and personal control over detection records.

Circle Mesh Limited does not collect, store, or transmit your personally identifiable information (PII), device scanning results, or detection history to servers or cloud databases operated by Circle Mesh Limited.

The following information is processed and stored locally on your device:

Your personal detection history remains on your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.

Please note that certain third-party services integrated into the App may independently collect information as described in Section 3.

2. Information Collection and Device Permissions

To provide real-time smart glasses detection, proximity alerts, and security-related functionality, Glasses Scanner requires access to specific Android device permissions.

A. Bluetooth and Background Scanning

Purpose

Bluetooth permissions are required to perform Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanning and identify nearby smart eyewear, Bluetooth-enabled camera glasses, and compatible wireless devices.

The App supports detection and identification of various smart eyewear categories and manufacturers, including:

Data Handling

Bluetooth signal strength (RSSI), device identifiers, and manufacturer signatures are analyzed locally to estimate device proximity and generate detection alerts.

Bluetooth scanning results are not transmitted to servers operated by Circle Mesh Limited.

Background scanning functionality operates according to the permissions granted by the user and applicable Android operating system restrictions.

B. Location Permission

Purpose

Android may require location permissions for certain Bluetooth scanning operations, depending on the Android version and the permissions used by the App.

Glasses Scanner also uses location access to support its Tactical Map feature, allowing users to view the approximate locations where nearby devices were detected.

Data Handling

Location coordinates are processed locally and used to display detection markers on your personal Tactical Map.

When saved, detection coordinates are stored locally using the App's encrypted storage implementation.

Circle Mesh Limited does not upload your location history to its servers, continuously track your movements, or sell your location information.

Location access is used only for the functionality described in this Privacy Policy and according to the permissions you grant.

C. Camera Access and Evidence Photo Capture

Purpose

Camera access is requested to support the following features:

The AI Visual Scan feature analyzes camera frames to assist users in identifying potential visual indicators associated with recording devices.

Data Handling

Camera frames are processed locally for the intended scanning functionality.

Evidence photographs captured by the user are saved directly to the device's local gallery.

Default evidence directory:

Pictures/GlassesScanner

Circle Mesh Limited does not remotely access your camera, stream camera footage to its servers, or upload captured evidence photographs.

D. Storage and Local Export

Purpose

Storage functionality allows users to save and manage information generated by the App, including:

Data Handling

Exported reports and evidence photographs are saved locally to the user's device.

Users may choose to share exported files through other applications or services. Any information shared through third-party applications is subject to the privacy practices of those services.

These third-party services may collect and process information independently according to their respective privacy policies.

You can delete your detection history by selecting the "Clear All" option in the History tab.

Uninstalling Glasses Scanner generally removes application data stored in the App's private storage.

However, photographs saved to your device's gallery and files exported outside the App's private storage may remain on your device until you delete them separately.

Android backup and restore functionality may also affect the availability of certain application data, depending on your device settings and the App's backup configuration.
