This Privacy Policy explains how VidPull handles information when you browse websites, download videos, and manage or play saved videos. It applies to the VidPull Android app (app.vidpull.videodownloader). For privacy questions, contact phamthanhtan.dev@gmail.com.
VidPull does not require a VidPull account. The current version does not include advertising, analytics, or remote crash-reporting SDKs, and does not send your browsing history or downloaded videos to a developer-operated server. Websites you visit have their own data practices, as explained below.
Browsing data: VidPull stores visited page URLs, page titles, visit times, bookmarks, and browser preferences on your device. It inspects pages and media requests to identify videos and show download options. Search terms are sent to the search engine you select.
Cookies and website storage: The built-in browser uses Android WebView. When cookies are enabled, websites and their embedded services may store cookies, including sign-in sessions and preferences. Websites may also use local storage and cached files. Relevant cookies, page addresses, and browser information may be used in requests to retrieve videos.
Downloads and playback: VidPull processes video URLs, source page URLs, request headers, file names, download status, and media metadata to download and display videos. Download tasks may temporarily retain URLs and cookies on your device for background work or retries. Saved videos, thumbnails, playback positions, and app settings are stored locally. Videos are saved in the shared Movies/VidPull folder.
External app links: When you choose a supported link that opens another app, VidPull may check locally whether a supported app, such as TikTok or Facebook, is installed. These checks are used to handle that action and are not uploaded as an app inventory.
Support: If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to provide. We use these to respond to your request.
INTERNET: To load websites, search, inspect available media, and download videos.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: To check connectivity and apply download network preferences, such as Wi-Fi only.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and earlier): To save and manage downloaded videos in shared storage. Newer Android versions use the system media storage APIs.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To show download progress and completion notifications, subject to your Android notification settings.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC: To continue user-requested downloads in the background.
VidPull does not request access to your contacts, SMS, microphone, camera, or precise location. You can manage available permissions in Android Settings; denying a permission may limit the related feature.
When you visit a website, use a search engine, or download media, your device connects to the relevant website, search provider, media host, and services embedded in that content. They can receive your IP address, requested URLs or search terms, browser/device information, and applicable cookies or request headers. Their privacy policies govern how they use and retain that information. They may display advertisements or use tracking technologies within their websites.
If you choose to share a page or video, the selected app or recipient receives the content you share. Other apps with appropriate Android access may also be able to read videos saved in shared storage.
The VidPull app does not sell personal data or upload your saved media to the developer. Android backup or device transfer may include eligible app data depending on your device, operating system, and backup settings. Such backups are managed by your system or backup provider.
Local history, bookmarks, preferences, playback information, and website data remain on your device until you remove them, the app replaces older entries, or the system clears them. Download task records may remain after a task finishes until Android WorkManager removes them or you clear app storage.
Use the browser history and bookmark controls to remove those records. In Browser settings, use “Clear history, cookies and cache” for those data types. This control may not remove all website local storage or saved download-task data. To remove remaining app-private data, clear VidPull storage in Android Settings or uninstall the app. Review your Android backup settings separately if you also want to remove or prevent backed-up copies.
Delete downloaded videos from the VidPull library or your device file manager. Videos in shared storage may remain after uninstalling VidPull and must be deleted separately. Clearing local data does not delete information already held by websites, search providers, or recipients you shared with.
Support correspondence is retained while needed to handle your request and any related follow-up or applicable legal obligations. You can request deletion of information you sent us by emailing phamthanhtan.dev@gmail.com. We cannot remotely delete files stored only on your device or data controlled by third-party services.
VidPull uses Android app storage and system access controls for app-private data. Downloaded videos in shared storage are not a private or encrypted vault. HTTPS connections use transport encryption; VidPull also supports HTTP sources, whose traffic is not encrypted. Avoid entering sensitive information on untrusted or unencrypted websites. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The latest version and update date will appear on this page. If you have a privacy question or a request about information you provided to us, email phamthanhtan.dev@gmail.com.
