Effective date: October 18, 2026
This policy explains what the Tim Cleanup Android app ("Tim Cleanup", "we", "us") does with your information. Contact: timvpnsite@gmail.com
Tim Cleanup works on your device. Scanning, duplicate detection, the Smart Clean model and the storage forecast all run locally.
We have no servers for this app and no account. We do not collect, sell or share your files, photos, messages, contacts or call history.
The app has no ads and no analytics.
The only network connections are the ones you start: connecting your own email account (IMAP) and opening unsubscribe links. Google's on-device ML Kit library may send Google anonymous usage and diagnostic data (section 4).
Each permission is requested only when you open the section that needs it. Nothing listed here leaves your device.
Photos and videos; Photos and videos / All files access; Finding duplicates, similar shots, blurry or dark photos, screenshots and large videos; compression
Files on shared storage; All files access; Finding duplicate, large, temporary and old files, empty folders, installers, duplicate songs and old chat backups
Music files; Music and audio; Finding duplicate songs
Contacts; Contacts; Finding contacts with the same number or email, merging them and deleting empty contacts
SMS messages; Default SMS app role; Listing and deleting messages you choose. Tim Cleanup becomes your default SMS app only when you agree in the system dialog
Call history; Call logs; Listing and deleting calls older than 90 days
Calendar events; Calendar; Listing and deleting past and duplicate events
Installed apps, app usage and cache sizes; Usage access; Showing apps you have not opened for a long time and their size
Visible notifications; Notification access; Showing and clearing notifications you choose
Clipboard; none (foreground only); Showing whether something is on the clipboard and clearing it. The content is only read when you tap “Show”
Free storage space; none; Storage forecast
The app stores the following locally, in its private storage:
Settings (language, theme, similarity threshold, trash reminder days, excluded albums, automatic clean on/off)
Scan results: file lists, photo fingerprints (hashes and quality scores) and keep decisions
Items you moved to the Tim Cleanup trash (on Android 10 and older, a copy of the file until you delete it permanently)
Smart Clean feedback: for each file category, how many suggestions you cleaned or kept. This is how the model learns; it contains no file names
Daily free-space measurements for the storage forecast (up to 60 days)
If you connect an email account: your email address, server name and app password. The password is encrypted with a key kept in the Android Keystore (Android 6 and later)
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes all of this. App data is excluded from Android cloud backup.
Email (optional). If you connect an email account, the app connects directly from your device to the IMAP server you enter (for example imap.gmail.com) to list messages, find large attachments and move messages to the trash. Your messages are not sent anywhere else.
Unsubscribe links (optional). When you tap Unsubscribe, the app sends the unsubscribe request to the address given by the sender of that email, or opens your email app or browser.
To recognize text in screenshots and to rank photos with faces, the app uses Google's on-device ML Kit. Images are processed on your device and are not sent to Google. ML Kit may send Google anonymous information about its own use (device and app details, performance metrics and API usage) to maintain and improve the library. See https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms and https://policies.google.com/privacy
Upload your files, photos, messages, contacts, call history or calendar
Sell or share your information
Show ads or use analytics or crash-reporting services
Delete anything without your confirmation, except the optional weekly automatic clean, which you turn on yourself and which only deletes temporary files and empty folders
Photos and videos you clean go to the trash first; you can restore them until you delete them permanently. Files, messages, calls, events and contacts that you delete in the app are deleted from your device. To delete everything Tim Cleanup stored, uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android settings.
Tim Cleanup is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
