All data created within the App—including text, handwriting, images, audio recordings, and structural metadata (notebooks, sections, pages)—is stored entirely locally on your device.

3. Permissions Required To function properly, the App requests the following on-device permissions:

• Storage / Media Access: Required to import images/audio into your notes, export your notes as PDFs, and create or restore full application backups (.zip files).

• Microphone (Optional): Required only if you choose to use the audio recording attachment feature within the App.

4. Third-Party Services SmartOneNote operates offline and does not integrate with any third-party analytics trackers, advertising networks, or remote cloud syncing services.

Data Security Because your data never leaves your device (unless you explicitly export it), the security of your notes relies on your device's built-in security features (such as your lock screen PIN, password, or biometric authentication). We recommend utilizing Android's built-in device encryption to protect your local data.
