Privacy Policy for SilentZone
Last Updated: March 24, 2026
SilentZone is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information Collection and Use
SilentZone is designed to automate your phone's ringer modes based on your location and connectivity. To provide these features, the app requires access to certain information on your device.
Local Storage
All data collected by the app is stored locally on your device in a private database. We do not transmit your personal data to any external servers.
Data Types Collected:
Location Data: We collect latitude, longitude, and radius information for the "zones" you define. This data is used to trigger ringer mode changes (Silent, Vibrate, Normal) when you enter or exit specific areas.
WiFi Information: We collect the SSID (name) of WiFi networks you choose to associate with specific ringer modes. The app monitors your WiFi connection status to apply these settings.
Contacts and Call Logs: To allow important calls to bypass silent modes or to provide specialized behavior during DND, the app may access your contact list and call logs. This allows you to designate "Important Contacts" whose calls will always be prioritized.
Phone State: We monitor the phone state (incoming calls) to manage ringer behavior effectively.
2. Permissions
To function correctly, SilentZone requests the following permissions:
Location (Fine/Coarse/Background): Required to detect when you enter or leave a designated "Silent Zone." Background location is necessary for the app to work even when it is not actively open.
WiFi State: Required to detect connection to specific WiFi networks.
Do Not Disturb (Notification Policy): Required to change your phone's ringer mode programmatically.
Contacts and Call Logs: Required to identify calls from your designated "Important Contacts."
Foreground Service: Required to keep the monitoring service active in the background for reliable automation.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties. Your data stays on your device.
4. Security
We prioritize the security of your data. Since all information is stored locally, its security depends on your device's security. We recommend using standard device security measures (like screen locks) to protect all data on your phone.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
6. Contact Us
If you have any questions or suggestions about this Privacy Policy, please contact the developer.
