We are committed to being transparent about our privacy practices. This document details the types of information that may be processed when you use QrBit, the purposes of such processing, how data is handled locally and by integrated third-party services, and the choices available to you.
Depending on the specific features you use, your device settings, and the third-party services integrated into QrBit, the following categories of information may be processed:
Information encoded within scanned barcodes or QR codes, as well as text or data you manually input to generate codes.
QrBit provides input fields for phone numbers and email addresses solely to enable you to generate custom QR codes (such as tel: URIs, mailto: links, vCards, or MECARD formats). When you enter this information:
It is processed locally on your device using on-device QR generation libraries.
It is used only to render the QR code bitmap you requested.
It is never transmitted, uploaded, or synchronized to any external server operated by Kode Apps Studio.
It is not logged in analytics, crash reports, or advertising networks.
If you choose to save the generated QR code, the data is stored locally in your device's SQLite database (Room) and remains under your control.
You can delete this data at any time through the App's history settings or by clearing app data/uninstalling.
Because this data never leaves your device, it is processed ephemerally and is not "collected" in the sense of being transmitted or stored externally. However, it is acknowledged here for full transparency.
Device model, operating system version, app version, language preference, system performance metrics, and general device configuration details.
Information regarding interactions with the App, such as features accessed, session duration, and user interface events.
Error logs, crash stack traces, performance metrics, and device state information at the time of a technical issue.
Referrer URLs, install source data, and marketing campaign touchpoints.
Transaction tokens, subscription states, and product identifiers processed via Google Play Billing.
QrBit is designed to scan, decode, generate, and display QR codes and barcodes.
Data Types: Scanned or generated codes may contain URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi network credentials, contact cards (vCards), email addresses, phone numbers, SMS text, or product numbers.
Local Processing: Code recognition and barcode decoding are executed on-device using local scanning libraries (including Google ML Kit and ZXing). The contents of your scanned or generated codes are processed in real-time on your device to fulfill your request (e.g., displaying the text, formatting contact details, or opening a link).
Transmission: We do not automatically upload, transmit, or synchronize your scanned or generated QR/barcode content to our own servers or to third-party SDKs.
User Caution: Avoid scanning or generating codes containing highly sensitive personal, authentication, or financial information if you do not want such information rendered or cached in local application memory.
To provide QR and barcode scanning functionality, QrBit requires access to your device's camera.
Permission: The android.permission.CAMERA permission is requested at runtime when you initiate a scan.
Use of Camera Feeds: The camera feed is analyzed in real-time solely to detect, frame, and decode optical barcodes and QR codes.
No Image Storage or Upload: QrBit does not record, permanently store, harvest, or transmit raw camera photos or video streams to remote servers during the scanning process.
QrBit utilizes local on-device database architecture (Android Room) to store certain application data.
Scan and Generation History: If history features are enabled, QrBit may store a local log of your previously scanned and generated codes, design preferences, and application settings.
On-Device Retention: This data remains strictly on your local device storage. It is not synchronized with any external server hosted by Kode Apps Studio.
User Control: You can view, manage, and delete individual history entries or clear your entire scan history directly within the App's settings interface.
Uninstallation: If you uninstall QrBit or clear app storage via your Android system settings, all locally stored database records, history logs, and cached files are permanently deleted from your device.
When you interact with QrBit, diagnostic and technical information may be collected automatically by integrated third-party SDKs to ensure stability, optimize app performance, and analyze aggregate feature engagement. This information typically includes device hardware models, Android OS versions, application version identifiers, network status, and operational timestamps.
QrBit requests only the permissions necessary to provide its core utility and optional features:
Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): Required to access the camera hardware for real-time barcode and QR code scanning.
Internet (android.permission.INTERNET): Required to load external links in your browser upon request, communicate with Google Play for billing, deliver remote configurations, serve advertisements, and send anonymized crash/analytics reports to third-party SDKs.
Vibration (android.permission.VIBRATE): Used to provide haptic feedback upon a successful scan.
Read External Storage (android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, max API 32): Used if you choose to scan a QR code from an existing image file saved on your device.
Write External Storage (android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, max API 28): Used on older Android versions if you choose to save or export a generated QR code image to your local photo gallery.
Information processed through QrBit is used for legitimate operational, analytical, and technical purposes, including:
Operating, decoding, and displaying QR codes and barcodes.
Creating custom QR codes and formatted barcodes based on user input.
Retaining local user preferences, design choices, and scan history.
Monitoring application stability, tracking bugs, and diagnosing technical crashes.
Measuring application performance, launch latency, and screen load times.
Understanding general installation channels and marketing campaign effectiveness.
Managing dynamic in-app configuration parameters without requiring full app updates.
Serving relevant advertisements through authorized advertising networks.
Processing in-app purchases and managing premium subscription states via Google Play.
Protecting against fraudulent activity, abusive behavior, and security vulnerabilities.

QrBit integrates select third-party software development kits (SDKs) to provide infrastructure, analytics, diagnostics, advertising, attribution, and payment processing. These third parties may process device and diagnostic data in accordance with their independent privacy policies.
QrBit incorporates Firebase components, which may include:
Firebase Analytics: Measures aggregated user engagement, screen navigation, and standard app events to help us improve user experience.
Firebase Crashlytics: Collects stack traces, device state metrics, and error logs when an unexpected crash occurs to assist in debugging.
Firebase Performance Monitoring: Gathers network request latencies and UI rendering traces to optimize app responsiveness.
Firebase Remote Config: Fetches dynamic application settings (e.g., UI adjustments, feature flags) to ensure smooth operations.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Facilitates the delivery of service notifications or administrative updates where enabled.

The App integrates the AppsFlyer SDK and Google Play Install Referrer to:
Attribute app installations to specific marketing channels or distribution campaigns.
Analyze user engagement funnels and measure campaign performance.
Process technical device metadata, install timestamps, and referrer parameters.

If you purchase optional premium features or subscriptions:
Transactions are executed entirely by Google Play via the Google Play Billing Library.
Kode Apps Studio does not receive, process, or store your credit card details, bank account numbers, or billing addresses.
Google provides us with non-sensitive transaction tokens, purchase IDs, and subscription status flags to validate and unlock digital entitlements.

QrBit integrates the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display advertisements.
Data Processed: AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and process device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), IP addresses, coarse location data, diagnostic metrics, and app interaction data to serve, measure, and personalize ads.
Ad Choices & Controls: Depending on your jurisdiction and device settings, you may receive contextual or personalized ads. You can manage or reset your advertising identifier and opt out of personalized ads directly within your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared or processed externally only under the following circumstances:
Service Providers & SDKs: Shared with technical vendors (Google Firebase, Google AdMob, AppsFlyer, Google Play) strictly to perform operational, diagnostic, advertising, and attribution functions on our behalf.
User-Entered Phone/Email Data: Never shared. Remains solely on your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
Legal Compliance: Disclosed if required by a valid subpoena, court order, regulatory mandate, or applicable law, or to protect the safety, property, or legal rights of our users or the public.
Business Transfers: If Kode Apps Studio is involved in a merger, acquisition, corporate restructuring, or asset transfer, application-related data and service configurations may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Data retention varies based on whether information is stored locally or processed by external service providers:
Local On-Device Data: Scan logs, generated codes, and preferences remain on your device until you delete them within the App, clear application data via Android settings, or uninstall the App.
User-Entered Contact Data (Phone/Email): Retained in memory only during QR generation. If saved to history, stored locally on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
Analytics, Crash, and Diagnostic Data: Handled by Google Firebase and AppsFlyer according to their standard retention schedules and policies (typically ranging from a few weeks for crash logs up to 14–25 months for aggregated analytical events).
Advertising and Attribution Data: Retained by Google AdMob and AppsFlyer in accordance with their respective privacy disclosures and regulatory standards.
Purchase History Records: Financial records and purchase tokens are maintained by Google Play in accordance with applicable financial and consumer protection laws.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. QrBit relies on Android's application sandboxing architecture and industry-standard encrypted communications (such as HTTPS/TLS) for external network requests.
However, no method of digital transmission over the internet or electronic data storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
QrBit is a general-audience utility application and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age under local law). We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children. Information collected by third-party SDKs (including Google and AppsFlyer) may be transmitted to, stored, and processed on servers located outside your country of residence (including in the United States and other global data center regions). Data protection laws in these jurisdictions may differ from those in your home country.
You maintain control over your data and device permissions:
Revoke Permissions: You can modify or revoke Camera, Storage, or Notification permissions at any time via Settings > Apps > QrBit > Permissions.
Manage History: You can clear your scan and generation history directly inside the App.
Reset Advertising ID: You can reset your device's advertising identifier or opt out of ad personalization in your Android settings.
Clear App Data: You can delete all local cache and database records by selecting Clear Data / Clear Storage in your Android app management menu.
Uninstall: You can terminate all local data processing by uninstalling QrBit.
To permanently delete locally stored data, you can:
Use the in-app delete actions to remove scan and generation logs.
Clear the App's data via Android Settings > Apps > QrBit > Storage > Clear Storage.
Uninstall the App from your device.

Scanned QR codes may contain hyperlinks directing you to external websites, services, or online resources. Opening these links will launch your device's web browser. We do not operate, control, or endorse these third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any website you visit.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our application features, legal requirements, or third-party service practices. When updates are published, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be revised.
