Welcome to Momo AI. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Momo AI collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
Photos and Media
Momo AI collects and processes photos that you explicitly select from your device's photo library in order to provide AI-powered features such as:
Photo enhancement and restoration
AI portrait generation (LinkedIn-style, professional photos)
Couple and friendship "duo" photos
Memorial-style and tribute photos
Age progression (baby, child, teen, adult, elder simulations)
Style and aesthetic transformations
Photos are only collected after you have explicitly granted in-app consent on the "AI Processing Consent" screen, which is shown the first time you attempt to use any AI feature. No photo leaves your device before you tap "Accept and Continue" on that screen. You may revoke this consent at any time from Settings → "AI Data Processing".
Device Information
We may collect limited device-related information including:
Device model
Operating system version
App version
Crash logs
Performance analytics
This helps us improve app stability and user experience.
Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase a premium subscription, payment processing is handled securely through the Apple App Store. We do not store your credit card or payment details.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your name, email address (other than when you contact support), phone number, precise location, contacts, browsing history, or persistent device identifiers for tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
Provide AI photo generation, enhancement, and analysis services
Improve app performance and features
Fix bugs and technical issues
Maintain security and prevent abuse
Process subscriptions and premium access
3. AI Processing and Third-Party AI Services
This section is important. To provide AI photo features, Momo AI transmits the photo(s) you select to the following third-party AI service providers. No personal data other than the photo itself is transmitted — your name, email, location, contacts, and device identifiers are not sent.
a) Replicate, Inc. (https://replicate.com)
What is sent: the photo you selected, in JPEG form, over HTTPS.
What it is used for: running AI image models — GFPGAN, Real-ESRGAN, and CodeFormer for face restoration and upscaling; FLUX (Black Forest Labs) for scene generation; face-swap models for duo composites; age-progression models.
Retention: Replicate states that prediction inputs and outputs are deleted from their servers within approximately one hour after the prediction completes. Their full policy: https://replicate.com/privacy
Equal protection: By our agreement with Replicate, Inc. and their published Data Processing Addendum, Replicate provides data protection equivalent to the protections described in this Privacy Policy, including encryption in transit, restricted access, and a contractual prohibition on using customer inputs to train their own models without permission.
b) OpenAI, L.L.C. (https://openai.com)
What is sent: the photo(s) you selected, in JPEG form, over HTTPS.
What it is used for: photo compatibility and score analysis via the GPT-4 Vision model (e.g., friendship-match score, style-match score).
Retention: OpenAI states that API inputs are retained for a maximum of 30 days for abuse monitoring and are then permanently deleted. Equal protection: Under OpenAI's API Data Usage Policy, OpenAI commits to data protection standards substantially equivalent to those in this Privacy Policy, including encryption in transit and at rest, SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, and the no-training-on-API-data commitment.
We do not sell your photos or any personal data to advertisers or to any unrelated third party. The third-party AI providers above are used solely to deliver the feature you requested.
4. Data Storage
On your device: Generated results are saved to your local app history on your iPhone. We do not upload your history to any server.
On Momo AI's servers: Momo AI does not operate its own image-storage servers. Your photos are never stored on infrastructure controlled by Momo AI.
On third-party AI provider servers: Photos are temporarily processed and then deleted as described in Section 3.
We take reasonable security measures, including HTTPS transmission, to protect your information.
5. Children's Privacy
Momo AI is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Other Third-Party Services
In addition to the AI providers in Section 3, the app may use:
Apple App Store / StoreKit — for subscription processing
RevenueCat — for subscription state management (no photo data is sent to RevenueCat)
Apple's on-device frameworks — for haptics, notifications, photo picker (no data leaves your device)
These services operate under their own privacy policies.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your region (including GDPR and CCPA jurisdictions), you may have the right to:
Access the data we hold about you
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent for AI processing (via Settings → "AI Data Processing" → "Revoke Consent", or by contacting us)
Object to or restrict processing
Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the app and the "Last Updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
