Hyperliquid Tax Helper ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension designed to query and display your trading data from the Hyperliquid platform, providing a foundation for your own tax planning.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the Extension.

The short version: We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. Everything stays on your device. Period.

2. Data We Collect

None.

Hyperliquid Tax Helper does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. We have no servers, no databases, no analytics, and no tracking.

Specifically, the Extension does NOT collect:

Your name, email address, or any personal identifiable information

Your wallet address or private keys

Your browsing history or visited URLs

Your Hyperliquid transaction data (all data stays locally on your device)

IP address or location data

Device identifiers or hardware information

Any behavioral or analytical data

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The Extension uses Chrome's chrome.storage.local API to store the following data locally on your device only:

Transaction history Fetched from Hyperliquid API and cached for faster loading and offline access

Aggregated statistics PnL and funding rate summaries per coin

User preferences Any settings you configure within the Extension

This data never leaves your browser. It is not transmitted to us or any third party. Uninstalling the Extension automatically deletes all stored data.

4. Permissions Explained

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used solely for the stated purpose:

Permission Why It's Needed

storage To save transaction data and your settings locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. This improves loading performance and enables offline access to previously retrieved data.

activeTab To ensure the Extension can query data in the correct page environment when you click the Extension icon. This permission is only activated by your explicit action and does not run persistently in the background.

sidePanel To display the Extension's main interface in the Chrome side panel, providing a larger and more comfortable space for viewing transaction tables and statistics.

Host permissions (https://api.hyperliquid-testnet.xyz/*, https://api.hyperliquid.xyz/*) To send requests to Hyperliquid's official API endpoints to retrieve your trade history (userFills) and funding rates (userFunding). This data is the sole source for the Extension's PnL aggregation and fee summary.

5. Third-Party Services

The Extension does not integrate with any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services. It does not use:

Google Analytics

Any crash reporting services

Any remote configuration services

Any CDN-hosted scripts loaded at runtime

The Extension only communicates with Hyperliquid's official API endpoints to fetch your transaction data. No data is sent to any other service.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share any user data with anyone.

There is no data to share because we do not collect any.

7. Children's Privacy

The Extension is safe for users of all ages. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

8. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Uninstalling the Extension automatically deletes all stored data

You can manually clear Extension data at any time through Chrome's settings (chrome://extensions → Hyperliquid Tax Helper → Details → Remove Extension`)

9. Compliance with Chrome Web Store Policies

This Extension complies with the Chrome Web Store's Limited Use Policy, which requires that any user data collected (which in our case is none) must be strictly necessary for the Extension's single disclosed purpose.

Since the Extension collects no user data, it fully adheres to all privacy and data handling requirements.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Any significant changes will be communicated through the Extension's update notes.
