The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website or use the Android application GPX Movement Tracker (hereinafter referred to as the "App"). Personal data refers to any data with which you can be personally identified.
Data Collection in Our App
Who is responsible for data collection?
Data processing is carried out by the app operator (see the Legal Notice / Imprint on this website).
How do we collect your data?
GPS and sensor data are collected exclusively locally on your mobile device while actively using the tracking feature.
What do we use your data for?
The data is used solely to provide the functions of the App (recording routes, speeds, altitudes, G-forces, and exporting GPX files).
2. Privacy in the App "GPX Movement Tracker"
a) Location Data (GPS)
To fulfill the core functionality of the App (recording routes and tracks), the App requires access to your mobile device's location (GPS / precise location).
Foreground & Background Usage: When you start tracking, the App records your location data even in the background (via a transparent foreground service with an active notification) so that your route continues to be recorded seamlessly when the screen is turned off.
Local Storage: All location, speed, and altitude data are processed and stored exclusively locally on your device. We do not automatically transfer or store your movement data on external servers.
User-Initiated Export: Route data is only shared or exported when you actively use the GPX export feature to save files on your device or share them via external services (e.g., email, cloud storage).
b) Sensor Data (Accelerometer / G-Forces)
The App accesses your device's built-in accelerometer to calculate and display real-time G-forces and acceleration values. This sensor data remains strictly local on your device and is never transmitted to third parties.
c) In-App Purchases & Subscription Handling (RevenueCat & Google Play)
The App offers optional in-app purchases and Pro upgrades. All payments are processed directly through the Google Play Store (Google Ireland Limited).
To manage feature entitlements and Pro status, we utilize RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., 833 Market St, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA).
Processed Data: During a purchase, the Google Play Store transmits an anonymized or pseudonymous transaction ID to RevenueCat. We do not collect or store any credit card, banking, or payment details.
Purpose: Verification and activation of your purchased Pro features (e.g., unlimited GPX exports).
Legal Basis: Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (performance of a contract).

3. Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:
Request information (Access) about your personal data processed by us (Art. 15 GDPR).
Request rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR).
Request deletion of your data (Art. 17 GDPR). Since all location and tracking data are stored locally on your smartphone, you can delete them at any time by clearing the App data or uninstalling the App.
Request restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 18, 20 GDPR).
Withdraw consent (e.g., location permissions in Android system settings) at any time with effect for the future.
