Welcome to Fovea ("we," "our," or "us"). Fovea is a high-performance RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) speed reading application developed by Pushkar Wagh.
We believe that what you read is your business. Your intellectual growth, your library, and your reading habits are private. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information—which is to say, we don't. Fovea is designed to function entirely offline, keeping your data safe on your own device.
By using Fovea, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We have designed Fovea to collect as little information as possible.
2.1. Personal Information
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII). We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or location data. There is no account creation or login process required to use Fovea.
2.2. User Content (Files and Text)
When you use the "Upload PDF" or "Paste Text" features:
Local Processing: The text extraction from your files happens entirely on your device's processor using local code.
No Cloud Uploads: Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party cloud storage.
Volatile Memory: The text is processed in your device's RAM (Random Access Memory) for the purpose of the speed reading display.
2.3. Usage Data and Statistics
Fovea tracks your reading statistics (e.g., "Total Words Read," "Daily Streak," "Reading Speed").
Local Storage: This data is stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences.
No Analytics: We do not transmit these statistics to any external server. If you uninstall the app, this data is permanently deleted.
3. Third-Party Services
Fovea uses minimal third-party software libraries solely to provide functionality, not to collect data.
Syncfusion Flutter PDF: Used to process PDF files locally on your device.
File Picker: Used to access the file system on your device with your explicit permission.
We do not use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics or Firebase) and we do not use third-party advertising networks.
4. Android Permissions
To function, Fovea requires specific permissions on your device:
Storage Access: Required only when you explicitly choose to upload a file, so the app can read the specific document you selected.
5. Data Security
Because Fovea is an offline application, your data is inherently secure. Your reading material never leaves your physical device. We rely on the security features of your mobile operating system (Android) to protect the data stored locally on your phone.
6. Children’s Privacy
Fovea does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. In fact, we do not collect personal information from anyone. The app is safe for use by all ages.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
