Privacy Policy for DocuKit – PDF & Document Tools

Effective Date: September 8, 2026
Last Updated: September 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to DocuKit – PDF & Document Tools (“DocuKit”, “Application”, “App”), developed and provided by [Developer Name] (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

DocuKit is a PDF and document utility application that provides tools such as document scanning, image-to-PDF conversion, PDF-to-image conversion, PDF merging, splitting, compression, page rotation and reordering, page extraction, signatures, watermarks, PDF locking/unlocking, and document sharing/export.

By using DocuKit, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Document Processing

DocuKit is designed with a privacy-first, on-device processing approach.

Documents, PDF files, images, scanned pages, signatures, passwords, and other files selected by you are processed locally on your device whenever supported by the relevant feature.

DocuKit does not operate a cloud document-processing service and does not intentionally upload the contents of your documents to our servers for PDF processing.

Your files may contain personal, financial, confidential, or otherwise sensitive information. We do not use the contents of those files for advertising, profiling, analytics, or marketing.

2. Files You Select

DocuKit may access files that you explicitly select through Android system file pickers or supported document-selection interfaces.

These files may include:

Access is used only to perform the action requested by you.

DocuKit does not request unrestricted access to all files on your device.

3. Document Scanner

DocuKit includes a document scanning feature powered by Google ML Kit Document Scanner and related Google Play services.

The scanner may use your device camera through the scanning interface to capture document pages, detect document boundaries, crop pages, rotate images, apply filters, and generate document output.

DocuKit itself does not permanently collect or transmit camera images for advertising or profiling purposes.

The availability and operation of the scanner may depend on Google Play services and the capabilities of your device.

4. Signatures

DocuKit allows you to create a handwritten signature and apply it to a PDF document.

Signature drawings are used only for the document-editing operation requested by you.

DocuKit does not use your signature for identity verification, biometric identification, advertising, or profiling.

The signature feature should not be interpreted as a qualified electronic signature, certificate-based digital signature, or legal identity verification system unless explicitly stated otherwise.

5. PDF Passwords and Security Tools

DocuKit provides features that allow users to lock supported PDF documents with a password or remove password protection when the user provides a valid password.

Passwords entered into DocuKit:

DocuKit does not provide password cracking, password guessing, or unauthorized password bypass services.

Users are responsible for using these features only on documents they own or are authorized to modify.

6. Locally Generated Files

Files created by DocuKit may be temporarily or permanently stored within application-managed storage on your device.

These may include:

You can manage supported output files through DocuKit's Files section.

Temporary files may be automatically deleted when they are no longer required, during cleanup operations, or when the application determines that they are stale.

Final documents remain on your device until you delete them, clear application data, uninstall the Application where applicable, or otherwise remove them using your device or DocuKit.

7. Sharing and Exporting Files

DocuKit allows you to share or export files using Android system functionality.

When you choose to share or export a file to another application, cloud service, messaging service, email provider, storage provider, or other destination, the transfer is initiated by you.

Once a file leaves DocuKit and is transferred to another service, that service's privacy practices apply.

We are not responsible for how third-party applications or services handle files you intentionally share with them.

8. Advertising

DocuKit is supported by advertising and integrates Google AdMob, provided by Google.

Advertising may include:

Google Mobile Ads and associated services may automatically collect or process certain information required for advertising, fraud prevention, ad measurement, frequency management, and service operation.

Depending on your device, region, consent choices, and Google services configuration, this information may include:

We do not provide the contents of your PDFs, scanned documents, images, signatures, or document passwords to Google AdMob for advertising purposes.

Google's handling of information is governed by Google's own privacy policies and applicable terms.

9. Consent and Privacy Choices

DocuKit uses Google's User Messaging Platform (“UMP”) where applicable to help manage advertising consent and privacy choices.

Depending on your country or region, you may be presented with consent options regarding personalized advertising, advertising storage, advertising-related user data, and related technologies.

Where required, DocuKit provides access to privacy choices through the Application.

Your available options may vary depending on your jurisdiction and applicable privacy laws.

10. Automatically Collected Information

DocuKit itself does not require you to create an account or submit your name, email address, telephone number, address, or other account profile information to use its core PDF tools.

However, third-party SDKs integrated into the Application, particularly Google advertising and consent services, may automatically process technical or device information as described in this Privacy Policy and their respective privacy documentation.

This information may be used for purposes such as:

11. Permissions

DocuKit follows a data-minimization approach.

The Application does not request unrestricted storage access such as Android's “Manage All Files” permission.

The Application may use network-related permissions required for advertising, consent services, and supporting Google services.

Files are normally selected through Android's system-provided file selection mechanisms.

The document scanner may access camera functionality through Google ML Kit's document-scanning experience.

DocuKit does not require access to your:

Permission usage may change if new features are introduced. If this occurs, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

12. Data We Do Not Sell

We do not sell your personal documents, scanned document contents, images, signatures, PDF passwords, or other document contents.

We do not knowingly exchange such content with third parties for monetary compensation.

13. Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to reduce unauthorized access to information handled by DocuKit.

These measures include, where applicable:

However, no application, device, storage mechanism, or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and for choosing appropriate destinations when sharing sensitive documents.

14. Data Retention and Deletion

Documents processed by DocuKit are generally retained locally only as necessary to perform the requested function or until you choose to remove generated outputs.

Temporary processing data may be deleted automatically.

You may delete generated files through DocuKit where supported.

You may also remove locally stored application data through Android system settings or by uninstalling the Application.

Advertising and consent-related information processed by Google or other third-party providers is subject to the respective provider's retention and deletion policies.

Because DocuKit does not require a user account for its core functionality, there is no DocuKit online account that users need to request us to delete.

15. Third-Party Services

DocuKit may use third-party services that have their own privacy policies and terms, including:

These services may process information independently according to their respective policies.

We encourage users to review Google's Privacy Policy and relevant Google service documentation to understand how Google handles information.

16. Children's Privacy

DocuKit is a general-purpose document utility and is not specifically designed or directed toward children.

We do not knowingly request children to submit personal information directly to us through an account or registration system.

Advertising behavior may be affected by applicable laws, Google Play requirements, Google advertising policies, user consent, and the audience settings configured for the Application.

If we become aware that information has been handled in a manner inconsistent with applicable children's privacy requirements, we will take reasonable steps to address the issue.

17. International Users

DocuKit is intended for users in multiple countries.

Privacy and data protection rights may vary depending on your jurisdiction.

Where applicable, users may have rights concerning consent, access, objection, restriction, or deletion relating to personal information processed by third-party services used by the Application.

Advertising consent and privacy options may be provided through Google UMP where required.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

When this Privacy Policy is updated, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.

We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
