on the collection, use, and disclosure of Your information
when You use the Equiva application and explains Your
privacy rights and protections.
By using the Application, You agree to the collection and
use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Application
Refers to Equiva: Smart Group Budgeting, developed and
owned by Rey Ablaneda.
Company
("We", "Us", "Our") refers to Rey Ablaneda, developer
of Equiva.
Personal Data
Any information that identifies or can identify
an individual.
Service
Refers to the Equiva mobile application.
Device
Any device capable of running the application
(mobile phone, tablet, etc.).
Third-Party Service
Any service not operated by Us, including Firebase,
Google AdMob, and Google Sign-In.

Account Registration
─────────────────────────────────────────
Equiva requires account registration to access all
features. You may register using:
- Email address and password via Firebase Authentication
- Google Sign-In via OAuth 2.0
Upon registration, the following information is
collected and stored:
- Full name or display name
- Email address
- Firebase User ID (UID)
- Profile photo URL (Google Sign-In only)
- Account creation timestamp
This information is stored securely on Firebase servers
operated by Google.

Data We Collect

1. Account Data
When You create an account, We collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- User ID (Firebase UID)
- Profile photo URL (if using Google Sign-In)
- Premium subscription status and expiry date
- Number of extra group slots earned
This data is stored in Firebase Firestore and Firebase
Authentication.
2. Group and Contribution Data
When You create or participate in a group, We collect:
- Group name, target amount, and currency
- Trip date
- Member names and contribution amounts
- Group expenses and descriptions
- Security settings (public, PIN, or admin approval)
- Activity logs of all group actions
- Join requests and approval status
- Banned member records
This data is stored in Firebase Firestore and is
accessible to all members of the respective group.
3. App Preferences
The following is stored locally on Your Device via
SharedPreferences:
- Selected currency
- Premium status flag (local cache)
- Notification settings
- QR scan count and limits
- Extra member and group slots earned
- Device ID for group identification
4. Purchase Data
When You subscribe to Equiva Premium, We collect:
- Purchase token from Google Play Billing
- Subscription type (monthly or yearly)
- Purchase date and expiry date
- Google Play order verification data
This data is stored in Firebase Firestore for
subscription verification purposes.
5. Device and Usage Data
Through Google AdMob (for non-premium users),
the following may be collected automatically:
- Advertising ID
- Device type and operating system version
- IP address (by Google AdMob)
- Ad interaction data
This data is collected and processed by Google AdMob
in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
6. Photo and File Data (User-Initiated Only)
When You choose to upload a QR code image from Your gallery:
- The app accesses the specific image file You select
- The image is processed locally using ML Kit Barcode Scanning to read the QR code
- No images are uploaded to any server — all processing happens on Your device
- The image is not stored by the app after processing
- You have full control over which image to select
This feature is completely optional. You may enter Group ID manually instead of uploading a QR image.
No broad access to Your photo library or file system is required. The app uses Android System Photo Picker (Android 13+) or legacy file picker (Android 12 and below) which provides only the specific file You choose.
This data is NOT shared with any third party. It is processed ephemerally and discarded.

How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- Account Management — to create, authenticate, and
manage Your account
- Core App Functionality — to enable group creation,
contribution tracking, expense management, and
member coordination
- Real-Time Synchronization — to sync group data
across all members' devices via Firebase Firestore
- Notifications and Activity Feed — to show You
real-time updates of group activities performed
by other members
- Premium Features — to verify and maintain Your
subscription status
- Advertising — to serve ads to non-premium users
via Google AdMob
- App Improvement — to identify and fix issues
through Firebase crash reporting
We do not sell Your data to any third party.
We do not use Your data for profiling or
behavioral tracking beyond ad serving.

• Firebase Authentication — stores email, name,
and UID for account management
• Firebase Firestore — stores all group, member,
contribution, and activity data

• Used for OAuth 2.0 authentication
• Receives Your Google account name, email,
and profile photo

• Serves banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads
to non-premium users
• May collect Advertising ID and device data
for ad personalization
• Premium users are not shown ads

• Processes in-app subscription purchases
• Equiva does not store full payment information —
only the purchase token and subscription status

Data Retention

- Account data is retained until You delete
Your account
- Group data is retained as long as the group exists
in Firestore
- Local preferences are retained until You clear
app data or uninstall the app
- Purchase records are retained for subscription
verification purposes

Account and Data Deletion
─────────────────────────────────────────
You may delete Your account and all associated data
at any time using the following methods:
Method 1 — Inside the App (Recommended):
Go to Settings → Delete Account
This will permanently:
- Delete Your Firebase Authentication account
- Delete Your user profile from Firestore
- Delete all groups where You are the admin
- Remove You from all groups where You are a member
- Clear all local app data
Method 2 — Email Request:
Send an email to rabapps.dev@gmail.com with
the subject: "Account Deletion Request"
Include Your registered email address. We will
process Your request within 7 business days.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

Data Security

- All data transmitted between the app and Firebase
is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS
- Firebase Authentication uses industry-standard
security for credential storage
- Local data is stored in the private storage area
of Your Device
- We do not have access to Your Google Sign-In
password at any time
While We implement security best practices, no method
of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy
─────────────────────────────────────────
The Service is not directed toward children under
13 years of age. Equiva requires account registration
with an email address, which implies users must be of
appropriate age.
We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from
children under 13. If You believe a child has
provided Us with personal information, please
contact Us at rabapps.dev@gmail.com and We will
delete it promptly.
