Privacy Policy — Construction Safety Chief

This Privacy Policy describes how Construction Safety Chief ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. Please read it carefully.
1. DATA COLLECTION
The App does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with external servers or third parties. All information you enter — including worker profiles, shift schedules, inspection records, incident reports, equipment data, attendance logs, and photos — is stored exclusively on your device using local storage (SQLite database and device file system).
The App does not require an account, login, or internet connection to function.
2. ADVERTISING
The App displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect certain non-personal or anonymized device identifiers and usage data to serve ads. This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy for details on how Google handles this data.
3. PERMISSIONS
The App requests the following device permissions:
- Camera: to take photos for worker profiles and incident reports.
- Storage (read/write): to save and retrieve photos, and to export or import ZIP backup files.
- Internet: required only for displaying AdMob advertisements.
4. DATA STORAGE AND RETENTION
All data you enter is stored locally on your device. We do not store your data on any server. Data remains on your device until you choose to delete it.
You are in full control of your data at all times:
- You may delete individual records (workers, incidents, tasks, etc.) at any time from within the App.
- You may delete all App data by using the "Restore Backup" function to import a blank dataset, or by clearing the App's data from your device's Settings, or by uninstalling the App.
- Uninstalling the App permanently removes all locally stored data including the database and any photos saved in the App's data directory.
We do not retain any copies of your data. Once deleted from your device, the data cannot be recovered by us.
5. BACKUP FILES
When you use the backup feature, a ZIP file containing your data is created and saved to a location you choose on your device (or shared to a service you select such as Google Drive). We do not receive, access, or store this backup file. You are responsible for managing and securing your backup files.
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is intended for use by workplace safety professionals and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
