Clay Focused ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.
Our Core Principle: We believe your focus sessions and personal data belong to you alone. Clay Focused is designed with privacy as a fundamental feature, not an afterthought.

Clay Focused stores the following information exclusively on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third parties:
Focus Session History: Records of completed focus sessions, including:
Session duration
Ceramic type created
Date and time of completion
Session quality metrics
Glaze selections and ceramic customizations
Progression Data:
Experience points (XP) earned
Current level
Earned badges and achievements
Unlocked ceramic types and glaze colors
Settings and Preferences:
Focus duration presets
Notification preferences
App blocking preferences
Statistics:
Weekly focus minutes
Daily streak count
Total sessions completed
We do not collect, transmit, or store:

All data stored by Clay Focused is used solely to:
Display Your Progress: Show your focus session history, ceramic collection, and achievement progress
Calculate Statistics: Compute streaks, weekly minutes, and progression levels
Provide Core Functionality: Enable the focus timer, ceramic creation, and gamification features
Save Your Preferences: Remember your settings and customizations
Your data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted elsewhere.
All app data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure UserDefaults system with the following protections:
Integrity Protection: We use HMAC-SHA256 cryptographic signatures to detect unauthorized data modifications
Device-Specific Encryption: Data integrity keys are unique to your device installation
Data Validation: All session data is validated before being saved to prevent corruption
No Cloud Sync: We do not sync your data to iCloud or any cloud service (this may change in future versions with your explicit consent)
Your Clay Focused data is included in iOS device backups (both iCloud and iTunes/Finder backups). If you restore your device from a backup, your progress will be restored. We recommend enabling encrypted backups for additional security.
Your data remains on your device until you:
Delete the app (which removes all associated data)
Use the "Reset All Data" feature in Settings
Restore your device without a backup
Clay Focused does not integrate with any third-party services, including:
No analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase)
No advertising networks
No social media platforms
No crash reporting tools
No payment processors (the app is free with no in-app purchases)
Clay Focused may request the following iOS permissions to provide optional features:
Purpose: Send focus reminders when you leave the app during an active session
Control: You can enable or disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings
Data Usage: Notification content is generated locally on your device; no notification data is sent to external servers
Purpose: Block distracting apps during focus sessions
Control: You must explicitly authorize this feature; it can be revoked in iOS Settings
Data Usage: We do not access your Screen Time data or usage statistics. We only use this permission to temporarily block apps you choose during active focus sessions
Privacy: App blocking selections are stored locally on your device
All permissions are optional. Clay Focused's core focus timer works without granting any permissions.
Clay Focused does not knowingly collect personal information from users of any age. The app is designed to be safe for all ages, including children under 13, as it:
Collects no personal information
Contains no advertising
Includes no social features
Does not transmit data off the device
Requires no account creation
You have complete control over your data:
All your data is visible within the app:
View your ceramic collection in the Shelf tab
See your statistics in the Stats tab
Check your progression in the Progression view
You can delete your data at any time:
Delete Individual Sessions: Swipe to delete ceramics in your Shelf
Reset All Data: Use "Reset All Data" in Settings → Advanced to erase all locally stored data
Uninstall App: Deleting Clay Focused from your device removes all associated data
Currently, we do not provide a data export feature. Your data is stored in standard iOS formats and may be accessible through device backups.
We do not share, sell, or disclose your data to anyone. Period.
Since all data is stored locally on your device and we have no servers or backend infrastructure, there is no data to share.
We will never:
Sell your data to advertisers
Share your usage patterns with third parties
Transmit your focus history to external services
Use your data for marketing purposes
In the extremely unlikely event we are legally compelled to provide information about the app, we can only provide public information (such as this privacy policy) because we do not have access to any user data.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect:
New features or functionality
Changes in legal requirements
Improvements to our privacy practices
When we make changes:
We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Significant changes will be communicated through an in-app notification
Your continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy

Clay Focused is available worldwide. Regardless of where you are located, your data remains exclusively on your deviceand is subject to your device's regional privacy protections.

CCPA (California): We collect no personal information as defined by CCPA

Algorithm: HMAC-SHA256
Key Generation: Device-specific 256-bit symmetric keys generated on first launch
Purpose: Detect tampering with locally stored progression data
Storage: Keys stored in iOS UserDefaults (not Keychain in current version)
All user-generated data undergoes validation before persistence:
Duration limits: 1-180 minutes per session
Date validation: No future dates, maximum 30 days in past
Quality consistency checks: Session quality must match app exit patterns
Reasonable limits: Maximum 100 app exits per session tracked
Timer manipulation detection:
Background time tracking
Suspicious pattern detection (e.g., time travel)
Sessions flagged or cancelled if manipulation detected
No data transmitted; validation occurs entirely on-device
