This Privacy Policy describes how Bluetooth MAC Address Finder ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1.1 Information You Provide

When using the App, you may choose to:

• Save Bluetooth devices to your personal inventory
• Add nicknames, notes, and custom tags to saved devices
• Attach photos to saved device entries via the Android system Photo Picker or camera
• Create smart lists and filters
• Export saved data (CSV, JSON, or PDF) and share it yourself

This content is stored locally on your device unless you explicitly export or share it. We do not upload your inventory, photos, notes, or scan results to our servers.

1.2 Bluetooth and Device Scan Data

To provide scanning, history, Find Mode, beacon decoding, and GATT features, the App accesses:

• Bluetooth adapter status (on/off)
• Nearby Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Classic device advertisement data, including identifiers, names, RSSI/signal strength, service UUIDs, manufacturer data, and related broadcast bytes
• Paired/bonded device information from your device's Bluetooth system
• GATT service and characteristic data when you connect to a device you choose

This data is processed on your device in real time.

We do not transmit discovered MAC addresses, device names, advertisement payloads, or GATT values to our servers.

On Android 6.0 and later, apps may not receive a device's real MAC address. The App may show a stable identifier provided by the operating system instead.

1.3 Automatically Collected Information (Analytics)

The App may collect limited, anonymized product analytics to improve performance and features, such as:

• App opens and general feature usage
• Subscription and paywall interaction events, without payment card details
• Rewarded-ad unlock events, such as whether an unlock was granted
• Scan session summaries, including aggregate duration and counts, but not individual device identities
• Permission and error events needed to diagnose issues

We do not include Bluetooth MAC addresses, device names, service UUIDs, or advertisement bytes in analytics events.

You can disable product analytics at any time in:

Settings → Privacy → Analytics opt-out

When opted out, the App stops emitting these analytics events on your device.

Crash reporting may be added in a future update. If enabled, it would be limited to technical crash data and would be described in an updated version of this policy.

1.4 Subscription and Purchase Data

Subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing and managed with RevenueCat.

These services may collect:

• Purchase and transaction records
• Subscription status, renewal dates, and entitlement state
• An app user identifier used to link purchases across sessions

We do not receive or store your payment card number.

RevenueCat's practices are described in its privacy policy.

1.5 Advertising Data (Google AdMob)

The App uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to support development.

Ad types include:

• Optional rewarded video — you choose to watch to temporarily unlock Pro features for the current app session
• Banner ads — small ads at the bottom of some main screens, including Discover, Saved, and History
• Interstitial ads — full-screen ads shown only at natural breaks, such as after stopping a scan or completing an export. These are not shown during active scanning or Find Mode.

When ads are shown, Google may collect or use:

• Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / AD_ID)
• Device and app information needed to serve and measure ads
• IP address and general device signals
• Ad interaction data, such as impressions and completions

Rewarded videos are shown only when you tap "Watch a short video" in the unlock dialog.

Banner and interstitial ads may appear for non-subscribers, including users who unlocked Pro via a rewarded video for the current session.

Pro subscribers are not shown any ads, including rewarded, banner, or interstitial ads.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and other regions where required, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect and respect your advertising consent choices before requesting ads.

Google's use of data is described in its Privacy Policy, Advertising policies, and information about how Google uses data from apps.

You can reset or limit ad personalization through your Google Account ad settings and your device settings.

1.6 Location Permission (Not GPS Tracking)

The App may request location permission because Android requires it for Bluetooth scanning on many device versions.

We do not use location permission to track your GPS position, build location history, or show maps of where you are.

Scanning and Find Mode use Bluetooth signal strength (RSSI), not GPS.

1.7 Advertising Choices and Consent (Revocation)

Depending on your region, including the EEA, UK, and certain US states, you may see a consent message before ads are requested.

In the App:

Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices

You can review or change your ad consent at any time when this option is available in your region.

On the web, you may manage your advertising preferences through Google Ad Settings.

If you withdraw consent or opt out of personalized ads or data sale/sharing:

• The App will not load or show ads until consent allows ad requests again
• The "Watch a short video" unlock button will be unavailable; you can still subscribe to Pro for ad-free access
• Any active temporary unlock you already earned remains for the current app session
• Pro subscribers are unaffected

1.8 In-App Review Prompt

The App may ask you to rate it on Google Play using the system in-app review dialog.

This uses Google Play services on your device. We do not receive personal review content through this prompt.

We use information to:

• Provide Bluetooth scanning, inventory, history, Find Mode, exports, and developer tools
• Process subscriptions and restore purchases
• Show optional rewarded ads when you request them
• Show banner and interstitial ads to non-subscribers, subject to your consent choices
• Improve reliability, performance, and product decisions through anonymized analytics
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not:

• Sell your personal data
• Upload your saved inventory, photos, notes, or raw scan payloads to our cloud servers
• Use location permission to track your GPS position
• Show ads without consent where required by law
• Show interstitial ads during active scanning, Find Mode, or GATT operations

3.1 Local Storage

Personal content is stored on your device:

• Inventory and scan history — local SQLite database (Drift)
• Photos — App private documents directory, compressed and with EXIF metadata removed
• Settings and preferences — local app storage, including analytics opt-out

We do not operate backend servers that store your Bluetooth inventory or scan results.

3.2 Session Unlock State

If you complete a rewarded video, the App keeps session unlock state in memory only so Pro features stay available until you close or restart the app.

This information is not persisted to disk and is not sent to us.

Display ads, including banner and interstitial ads, may still appear for non-subscribers during that session.

3.3 Security

We use reasonable measures to protect local data, including private app storage and removal of photo EXIF data.

No method of storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device.

If you attach photos to saved devices:

• Photos are selected via the Android system Photo Picker. You choose specific images; we do not request broad gallery or storage access.
• The App does not declare or use READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE.
• Photos are stored locally only on your device.
• Photos are compressed and EXIF metadata, including GPS information, is stripped.
• Photos are not uploaded to our servers.
• You can delete photos in the App at any time.

If you use the camera permission, it is only to capture a photo for your inventory entry.

We comply with Google Play's photo and video permissions policy. The App does not request access to your entire photo library.

The App requests permissions only for stated features:

BLUETOOTH / BLUETOOTH_ADMIN (older Android)
Purpose: Bluetooth discovery

BLUETOOTH_SCAN
Purpose: Discover nearby BLE devices on Android 12+

BLUETOOTH_CONNECT
Purpose: Connect for GATT browsing and paired device access

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
Purpose: Required by Android OS for Bluetooth scanning on many versions. Not used for GPS tracking.

INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Purpose: Subscriptions, ads when you choose, and optional online services

com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID
Purpose: Advertising ID for AdMob when you choose rewarded ads

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Purpose: Not used. Gallery picks use the Android system Photo Picker with no broad storage access.

CAMERA
Purpose: Capture inventory photos (optional)

POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Purpose: Continuous-scan foreground notification when you enable that feature

FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CONNECTED_DEVICE
Purpose: Continuous Bluetooth scanning while the App runs in the background when you enable it

BILLING
Purpose: In-app subscriptions via Google Play

Google Play Store
Purpose: App distribution and billing
Data involved: Purchase and account data handled by Google

RevenueCat
Purpose: Subscription management and restore
Data involved: Purchase receipts, entitlement state, and app user ID

Google AdMob
Purpose: Optional rewarded video ads
Data involved: Advertising ID and ad interaction signals when you opt to watch

Google UMP
Purpose: Ad consent for EEA, UK, and similar regions
Data involved: Consent choices

Google Play In-App Review
Purpose: Optional rating prompt
Data involved: Handled by Google Play on the device

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies.

Local App data remains until you delete items, clear App data in Android settings, or uninstall the App.

Subscription records are retained by Google Play and RevenueCat according to their policies.

Ad and consent data is handled by Google according to its policies and your settings.

YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your location, including GDPR in the EU/EEA and CCPA/CPRA in California, you may have rights to access, delete, correct, or port personal data held about you by us or our processors.

Because most App content is stored locally on your device, you can access, export, and delete it directly in the App.

For subscription or ad-related requests involving Google or RevenueCat, you may also use your Google Play account and ad settings or contact the publisher for assistance.

To exercise your rights or ask questions, contact us using the details in Section 11.

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

The App is configured for a general audience ad content rating and is not tagged as child-directed for advertising purposes.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

The App is distributed primarily through Google Play.

If you use the App outside your home country, you are responsible for compliance with local laws.

For EEA/UK users, our use of UMP is intended to support GDPR-aligned ad consent.

For California and other U.S. state privacy laws, you may have additional rights regarding the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we update the policy.

Material changes may also be communicated in the App where appropriate.

Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
