Version: v1.0.1 | Last Updated: Apr 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how AutoPaste ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use AutoPaste (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
Information We Do NOT Collect:
We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number
We do not require account creation or registration
We do not track your location
We do not access your contacts
We do not record or monitor anything you type on the keyboard
Device Permissions:
The App may request access to the following device features:
Photo Library: To let you select photos for on-device text recognition (OCR) inside the keyboard. Photos are processed locally on your device using Apple's Vision framework and are not uploaded to any server.
Camera: To let you capture a new photo for OCR. Captured photos stay on your device and are discarded after text is extracted.
Locally Stored Data:
Snippets, custom categories, invoice counters, and keyboard preferences are stored locally using Core Data inside an App Group container shared between the AutoPaste app and its keyboard extension.
Custom VAT rates, calculator state, and other keyboard settings are stored locally on your device.
No user-created content is transmitted to external servers.
Keyboard Extension and "Full Access":
The AutoPaste keyboard extension requires "Allow Full Access" so it can paste your saved snippets into any text field, read photos you tap for OCR, and check your Pro subscription status from the shared App Group. Full Access is a permission granted by you in iOS Settings. We do not use it to transmit, log, or analyse anything you type. All keyboard activity stays on your device.
Automatically Collected Information:
To help us fix bugs and improve the App, we collect anonymous, aggregated diagnostics through two sources:
Apple's built-in crash reporting, if you have enabled "Share with App Developers" on your device.
Google Firebase Analytics, which collects anonymous app-usage events (for example, which keyboard page was opened, which feature was used, and error counts), a randomly generated Firebase Installation ID, device model and iOS version, and a coarse country/region derived from IP address. The IP address itself is not retained after region is inferred.
None of this data contains the text you type, your snippets, the content of photos you scan, or any other personal identifiers. We do not use it for advertising and we do not combine it with data from other sources. You can disable analytics collection system-wide via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Analytics & Improvements.
Subscription Information:
In-app purchases and subscriptions (AutoPaste Pro) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID. AutoPaste Pro unlocks OCR, the VAT Calculator, and unlimited snippets; the Scientific Calculator, QWERTY keyboard, utilities, and the free snippet tier remain available without a subscription.
The App may use the following third-party services:
Apple App Store: For processing in-app purchases and subscriptions.
Apple Vision Framework: Runs entirely on-device for OCR text recognition — images never leave your iPhone.
RevenueCat: Receipt validation and entitlement syncing for in-app purchases. Only a pseudonymous App User ID and the Apple receipt are shared — no personal information.
Google Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): Anonymous app-usage analytics and performance monitoring. Firebase receives the data described in "Automatically Collected Information" above. Firebase operates under Google's privacy policy.
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review:

All your snippets, categories, settings, and app data are stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Since data remains on your device, its security is protected by your device's built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).
Since all primary data is stored locally on your device:
You can delete individual snippets at any time within the App.
You can reset all invoice counters and custom categories from the editor.
You can delete all app data by uninstalling the App from your device.
No user-created content remains on any external server after deletion.
Anonymous analytics events retained by Google Firebase follow Firebase's default 14-month retention window.
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The App is rated 4+ and does not contain content inappropriate for children. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, no special provisions for children's data are necessary.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Request deletion of your data
Opt out of analytics collection
Since we do not collect personally identifying data, these rights are inherently satisfied for any non-anonymous data. You maintain full control of all data stored locally on your device. To opt out of Firebase Analytics collection, disable "Share Analytics" in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
