This privacy policy applies to the Ascend Android application (hereinafter referred to as the "App") created by Robin Engelmann
1. Data Collection, Storage, and Health Connect Integration
The App allows you to track personal habits, moods, urges, and uses the Android Health Connect API to read your Resting Heart Rate data.
The purpose of accessing your Resting Heart Rate is strictly to enhance core app features, such as monitoring stress levels during cravings (urges) and tracking the physical calming effect of the built-in breathing and transmutation exercises.
The App is designed with a strict "offline-first" approach. All of your personal data, including Health Connect data and Resting Heart Rate readings, are stored exclusively, securely, and locally on your device.
We do not collect, transmit, sync, sell, or store any personal user data, Health Connect data, or Resting Heart Rate data on external servers or cloud environments. Your health data never leaves your phone and is completely under your control.
2. Third-Party Sharing
Because we do fundamentally not collect any data, your data is never shared with, sold to, or accessible by any third parties. Furthermore, the App does not contain any third-party analytics trackers or advertisement SDKs.
3. System Permissions
The App may request basic system permissions (such as allowing Push Notifications) to function correctly and deliver reminders to you. These permissions are strictly used for local app features and do not transmit data to us.
4. Export / Backup
If you choose to use the built-in backup and export functionalities, the resulting backup file is generated and encrypted locally on your device. You are completely and solely responsible for how you handle and store this file.
