I am Pritthijit Biswas and I will be joining as a Research Assosciate in mathematics at Kerala School of Mathematics (KSoM) from 3rd August, 2026.
Since May 2026, I have been working as a Visiting Postdoc in mathematics at IISER Pune. From May 2025 until April 2026, I worked as an institute postdoctoral fellow in mathematics at IIT Bombay.
From August 2024 until April 2025, I have worked as a project assistant in the research group of Prof. Jaya NN Iyer, at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc) in Chennai, India.
Earlier I obtained my PhD in mathematics from Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) in Chennai, India, under the supervision of Prof. Parameswaran Sankaran. My current research area revolves around moduli theory of vector bundles in algebraic geometry.
My current research focuses on two main programmes:
(1) Developing a frame work of carrying out complex differential geometry over Lie groupoids, mainly the Gauge theoretic aspects, i.e. giving a notion of connection on principal bundles over Lie groupoids and studying their properties-especially those which reveal a lot of information about the intrinsic structure of the "stacky"-principal bundle itself.
(2) Exploring whether a nice desingularisation or compactification could be constructed for the Moduli space of Lie algebroid connections on a compact Riemann surface, following / playing with the ideas of the known constructions of the same for the Moduli space of Higgs bundles (which happens to be a special case of the Moduli space of Lie algebroid connections).
I am also highly interested in derived algebraic geometry, more specifically derived categories of coherent sheaves of moduli spaces of vector bundles over curves, Bridgeland stability conditions and their interactions with full exceptional collections and semiorthogonal decompositions.
