Prithvi Sangani is currently a postdoctoral fellow and former Prime Minister's Research Fellow (PMRF) in the Structural Engineering Division, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Hyderabad. He earned his Bachelor of Technology from NIT Calicut, Kerala, in 2015, after which he gained four years of experience in the construction industry before joining IIT Hyderabad as a direct Ph.D. student in structural engineering. His research focuses on the condition assessment of damaged tubular members, material characterization of metals under extreme loading conditions, and experimental and numerical studies of impact loading on steel columns. He is keen to further his work in the broader area of extreme loading on structures, including impact, blast, and protective structural systems.
