This play is performed and directed entirely by youth Actors ranging from 14 to 22, which may mislead one to think the play is built for other young people. The subjects of the play include death, racism, sexism, alcoholism, relationship abuse, physical violence, and emotional violence, which our cast is entirely equipt to enact. We welcome audiences our age and above!
That being said, maybe leave your littlest at home.
90 minutes long, plus an intermission.
We have yet to time a run, and this information may change!
You don't!
Prism is committed to providing theater without many barriers for young people. How? As a team, we work together to provide transportation, snacks, communication, and props to each other, effectively removing most of 'the rub' from the process. Of course, that includes free tickets for our community!
Othello has taken many resources to produce, however. We rely on your donations to help us continue creating. Consider donating $20 to our fundraiser, here.
Then you'll have a great time!
Shakespeare's style can sometimes seem cryptic or ancient. When you come to see Othello, you will be able to follow the story using clues from the character's emotions, the play's stage movements, the fight scenes, and other clever elements. Some, but certainly not all of a play is conveyed within the words.
If you stay after our production has ended and most audience members have stepped away, the cast and crew will return to the playing space.
