Hello! My name is Manar [Mah-nahr]. I am the current Arab Society president. On campus I am involved with women’s rugby, PICASSO, the Forbes Garden, and the Lewis Arts Center. I love drawing, painting, and reading! I’m Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian. I look forward to a great year for the Arab Society!
Hello! My name is Mohamed Alghondakly. I grew up in Wallington, NJ but was born in Cairo, Egypt. I am Masry, through and through! On campus, I am a player on the Club Soccer team and the Vice President of the Arab Society. I am majoring in Economics and minoring in Finance and SML. Feel free to reach out to me for any questions, concerns, or for a conversation!
Musab is a senior in the electrical and computer engineering department. When he's not complaining about not being to find good shawarma, he's probably cycling around campus or watching an old movie.
Raneem El Torky is a senior from Egypt in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and is receiving certificates in Environmental Studies and Entrepreneurship. On campus, she is the captain of the varsity women’s squash team and the vice president of Cottage Club. She is also on the board of Princeton Committee on Palestine and Student-Athlete Service Council. She is really interested in sustainability and in learning more about how to reduce our waste and CO2 emissions.
Hi everyone! My name is Bashar, and I’m a sophomore in MAE. I’m originally from Iraq but left the country with my parents in 2003 and moved to Jordan, where we lived until 2008. After that, we packed up and came to the US (Iowa!) and have been here ever since. I speak Arabic “fluently” (I’m kind of very limited to the Iraqi dialect) but still can’t read or write it. In my free time, I like to play basketball, skate, and spend time with friends. On campus, I’m involved in StudioLab and Princeton Undergraduate Energy Association. This year, I am the Arab Society’s treasurer and can’t wait for the events we plan on hosting!
Hi everyone! My name is Jad and I'm a sophomore in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. I'm a first-generation Moroccan American and serve as the Arab Society's Social Chair. Outside of the Arab Society I'm involved with Body Hype, Engineers without Borders, Muslim Students Association, and Princeton Robotics Club. I'm excited to be working with the board to bring you fun events to engage with the Arab community on campus/Arab culture!
Ahlan! My name is Aisha Chebbi and I am first generation Tunisian-Cuban from Miami, Florida. I am a sophomore and plan on majoring in Anthropology (specifically the Medical Anthropology track). I also plan on pursuing a certificate in Global Health and Health Policy. I am so excited to serve as Community Chair and to find ways for our community to connect and grow together! Feel free to reach out and email me if you have any ideas for events that you would like to see happen this year!
