Simone Scalabrino is an Assistant Professor (RTD-B) at the Department of Biosciences and Territory of the University of Molise (UNIMOL). He received (cum laude) the Master Degree in Computer Science from the University of Salerno in 2015. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Molise in 2019, defending a thesis titled "Automatically Assessing and Improving Code Readability and Understandability". From April 2019, he worked as a Post-Doc researcher and as an Contract Lecturer at the University of Molise, until October 2021, when he became Research Fellow (SSD: ING-INF/05). He is the director of DEVISER (DEVeloper-centrIc Software Engineering Research group) at the University of Molise. His main research interests include code quality, software testing, and empirical software engineering.
Emanuela Guglielmi is a Ph.D student at the University of Molise, Italy, and part of DEVISER (DEVeloper-centrIc Software Engineering Research group). She received her MSc. in Software Security from University of Molise (Italy), Italy, in October 2021. Her research interests include automated testing and recommender systems for complex systems (e.g., virtual assistants and video games).
Giuseppe Desolda is Assistant Professor (RTD-B) at the Computer Science Department, University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy. He is a member of the Interaction Visualization Usability (IVU) and UX Laboratory, where he coordinates research on novel interaction techniques, Internet of Things, and usable security.
He is co-author of more than 80 papers published in journals, international conferences and collections. He is (has been) either member of the scientific program committee or reviewer of International Conferences. He is also on the reviewer board of international journals. He chaired several international events as: Short Paper Chair at INTERACT 2021; Proceeding Chair at PerDis 2019; Demo Chair at INTERACT 2019; Posters & Demo Chairs at AVI 2018; Publicity Chair at AVI 2016.
He has been regularly involved in various research projects (e.g., eGLU-BOX PA, PA++, CHAT, LOGIN, VINCENTE) sponsored by EU and Italian organizations, where he coordinated different Work Packages. He is also a founder and member of the Italian Working Group on Usability and User eXperience called GLU-X (Gruppo di Lavoro per l’Usabilità e User eXperience). He is a member of ACM, ACM SIGCHI, and SIGCHI Italy (the Italian Chapter of ACM SIGCHI).
Paolo Buono is Associate Professor at the CS Department of the University of Bari and founding member of IVU Lab where he coordinates the research on Information Visualization and Visual Analytics. His research interests also include HCI, Mobile Computing and Human-Centred AI. He has/had several international collaborations such as INRIA-Saclay (France), St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences (Austria), HCIL (MD, USA), Fraunhofer IPSI (Darmstadt, Germany). He is co-author of more than 100 papers published in journals, international conferences and collections.
Francesco Greco is currently a Ph.D. student at the Computer Science Department of the University of Bari Aldo Moro under the supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Desolda.
He is a member of the Interaction, Visualization, Usability & UX (IVU) Lab, directed by Prof. Maria Francesca Costabile. His research interests are in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Usable Security. He got a master's degree in Computer Science with full marks and honors in July 2022 at the University of Bari. He got his bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Digital Communication with full marks and honors in July 2020 at the University of Bari. From October 2023 to March 2024, he was a visiting postgraduate researcher in the CYS (Cybersecurity) research group at King's College London, UK, under the supervision of Prof. Luca Viganò.
Giuseppe Polese is Full Professor at the Computer Science Department, University of Salerno, Italy.
He has been with the italian airspace company Alenia (current Leonardo), working on Artificial Intelligence projects and C.A.S.E. tools. He has been visiting researcher in the Computer Science Department at University of Pittsburgh, gaining contracts as both Teaching and Research Assistant, visiting professor in the Computer Science Division at the University of Berkeley, and at the Institute of Computational Science of the University of the Italian Switzerland.
He is Director of the "Data Science & Artificial Intelligence Systems" Lab, and Coordinator of the Master Track "Data Science & Machine Learning" of the Laurea Degree in Computer Science. His research interests are in Data Science & Machine Learning. He has published over 100 articles in international journals, books, and conference proceedings. He has received several grants from industry, and from the Italian Ministry of Research and Education.
He is member of IEEE and ACM, and member of the Editorial Board of international journals, as Information Systems (Elsevier), Data and Information Quality (ACM), Data Science and Engineering (Springer), and the International Journal of Software and Knowledge Engineering (World Scientific).
He has been Program Chair for the International Conferences DMS07, DMS16, and SEKE23, General Chair for DMS08, DMS17, SEKE24 (Appointed), and EDBT/ICDT24 (Appointed). He has been invited for a talk at the Odissey Research Associates in Ithaca (USA), an invited talk in a joint plenary session between SEKE17 and DMS17, and a lecture in the Hasso Plattner Institute at the University of Potsdam, Germany.
