ABOUT ME

I am Abdulkabir Munirudeen Oyekanmi, widely known as PrimeMedix. I am a medical student at Bayero University Kano, an educator, mentor and author with interests spanning healthcare, education, research, technology and creative writing.

My passion for medicine goes beyond the classroom. I am interested in the science of healthcare, the pursuit of knowledge and the impact that education can have on individuals and society. Through teaching and mentorship, I enjoy sharing knowledge, inspiring curiosity and helping others grow.

As an author, I wrote Under the White Coat: A Novel of Becoming, a novel that explores the realities of the journey into medicine, including its challenges, sacrifices, relationships and personal growth.

I am also passionate about technology and its potential to improve learning, communication and healthcare.

I believe in continuous learning, purposeful growth and making meaningful contributions wherever knowledge and opportunity meet.

MY STORY

Every journey has a beginning. Mine was shaped by faith, perseverance and a dream that refused to die.

I FOUGHT SILENT BATTLES TO LIVE THIS LOUD DREAM

The story behind the name Prime.

For over eight years, I journeyed down a road heavily paved with uncertainty. Setbacks, delays, disappointments, and moments that tested me more than I ever expected came one after another.

There were countless times I wanted to throw in the towel, times when the dream felt so distant that giving up seemed easier than hoping again, and times when it seemed the doors to my dream were permanently sealed shut. Yet, I kept going. I held tightly to my faith, trusting that God's timing would eventually align with my efforts.

Every failure became less of a full stop and more of a stepping stone, strengthening my resolve to keep going.

The sleepless nights, the quiet tears, the disappointments, the prayers whispered when nobody was watching, and the heavy weight of watching others move ahead while I was still stuck in the waiting room of life—all of it built me.

What some may see today as an achievement carries years of a battle that was mostly invisible. Only God knows the prayers behind it, the disappointments behind it, and the number of times I had to find the strength to begin again.

And then, after years of wondering whether the door would ever open, it did.

Alhamdulillah, by God's infinite mercy and grace, alongside my unrelenting effort, the dream I once thought was so far away became a reality.

And that is why Prime means more to me than a name. It represents the person I have fought to become—the pursuit of excellence, continuous growth, and the commitment to becoming the best version of myself, no matter how long the journey takes.

I am no longer just a hopeful dreamer. I am PrimeMedix—a name tempered by the fire of struggle, refined by faith, and ready for the journey ahead.

The dream has found its beginning. But this is only the beginning of the journey.

BEYOND MEDICINE

Medicine is a major part of my journey, but my interests extend beyond the hospital and classroom.

I have a deep interest in education and mentorship, driven by the belief that knowledge becomes more valuable when it is shared. I am also passionate about Arabic language and learning, creative writing, technology and innovation.

My curiosity continually draws me towards new ideas and opportunities for growth. Whether through teaching, writing, exploring technology or developing meaningful initiatives, I enjoy finding ways to learn, create and contribute.

I believe that personal growth should never be limited to a single profession or field of knowledge.

VISION & ASPIRATIONS

My vision is to build a life defined by knowledge, purpose, service and continuous growth.

In medicine, I aspire to develop into a skilled neurosurgeon, contributing to the advancement of healthcare and improving the lives of patients through compassionate and evidence-based practice.

Beyond clinical practice, I hope to contribute meaningfully to medical education, scientific research, mentorship and initiatives that make knowledge more accessible.

Through PrimeMedix, I envision building a platform that connects healthcare, education and innovation, encouraging people to pursue excellence and make meaningful contributions in their respective fields.

Ultimately, I want my journey to be measured not only by what I achieve, but also by the positive difference I make in the lives of others.
