Pride Game Jam HKI 2022, June 30 - July 3 2022

Pride Game Jam HKI is a four-day event that celebrates LGBTQIA+ people through game making, and streamed educational talks.

A game jam is a time-constrained event during which people make games. The Pride Game Jam HKI is a non-competitive indie jam run by volunteers, and open to game makers of any skill level; from absolute beginners, to hardened professionals, and everyone in between.

The event, which takes place on June 30 to July 3 2022, is part of Helsinki Pride Week 2022, and is organized by a team of volunteers at the Finnish Game Jam ry, which is also a community partner of Helsinki Pride. Last year the jam ran as a fully online event, and this year it’s hybrid on-site online jam through Discord and Twitch, with game submissions on itch.io, and the venue at Skunkworks Games Office.

Four days of game making, learning and summer chill

The event kicks off on Thursday 4pm EEST with an online workshop day, following with a Friday 5pm streamed opening ceremony on Twitch, including the theme announcement. After that, team building exercises will be hosted on Discord to get together and ensure anyone looking for a team finds one.

On Saturday, invited speakers will be sharing their expertise and experiences with the jammers over a stream on Twitch.

The jam ends with a streamed ending ceremony on Sunday, during which the games made at the jam will be showcased. Games submitted through itch.io will also be available to download and play!
