License plates from Puerto Rico, whether we have a regular license plate or an authorized custom plate, would have between 4 to 7 characters
Now, in regards of the Veteran’s License Plate we should be careful when the image is presented in black and white, since it may look like this:
So, as long as we see that blank gap a the left of the license plate, and it starts with a “0” right
away” and it’s all digits from that point on, then we must assume that there’s the red V-letter
missing and we should add it at the beginning of the license plate, because otherwise, if we just
identify this example as “024036” it will never match a customer’s account nor will be bringing
up information from the DMV department since we have no license plates with digits-only
beginning with a “0”, as we discussed earlier in regards of the cargo plates (those will begin
between 1 and 9).
However, if we just identify them as we see them in the picture (in the example above, just as “263387”), there may be an issue in which a motorcycle identified as such may be confused at the DMV department as a cargo vehicle, so in those instances, if we catch up a motorcycle with a plate such as this one, we would place a letter M at the end of the numeric plate, in order to successfully match the motorcycle with the customer’s account or the customer’s information at the DMV department, whichever would be the case.
