There are many avenues for collaborating with us, from large to small effort and long to short durations. Below is a summary of the different approaches. All collaborations can involving training workshops as well. Please feel free to contact me for more details.
A project is directly funded by a company to work on a highly focused work or highly collaborative engagement.
We enter into a research collaboration agreement (RCA)
This can be for any amount of funding - typically, a minimum of $100k per year
Any timescale - typically, a minimum of 1 year
Negotiable IP rights
A project can be collaborative across different organisations including start-ups, established providers and multiple universities to ensure expertise and knowledge sharing is maximized.
Multiple research collaboration agreements (RCA)
Amount of funding depends on the size and involvement of the parties
Timescale can be small (a few months) to large or on-going
Negotiable IP rights among the participants
Students can be given projects or help out with project work.
Postgraduate MITB Capstone
Typically around 3-6 months in duration, maximum of 1 year.
One student per project
Research based
Undergraduate final year
Team of around 5 people
4 months in duration matched to an academic term
Develop a working product prototype or proof of concept
The above projects are graded and students have a high commitment. Students can also work ad-hoc informally on a case by case basis, however, the work may not be a high priority for the student among their other commitments.
There are a number of possible government and internal grants available at certain times and with particular conditions. Generally, they take significant time for approval. More details can be discussed.
