In March 2025, Preston Gillis starred as the title character in the high school production of Beetlejuice at Gloversville High School (GHS). As the main character, Preston brought Beetlejuice’s wild energy and humor to life, leading the show with an unforgettable stage presence. In addition to his performance, he also helped design and build the sets, contributing behind the scenes to create the spooky, dynamic world of Tim Burton. His dual role as both lead actor and set builder made the production one of his most memorable and favorite shows!

In 2023, Preston Gillis took on the male lead role of Sonny Malone in Xanadu at GHS. He had a strong stage presence, humor, and energy. For the role, Preston learned how to roller skate. Beyond acting, he also helped build some set pieces for the production, contributing behind the scenes to bring the colorful, high-energy world of Xanadu to life.

In March 2024, Preston Gillis starred as Frankie Churchill in Emma: A Pop Musical at GHS. He brought confidence, humor, and strong stage presence to the role, helping drive the energy of the production. Beyond performing, Preston created several props and set pieces. He also assisted with portions of the choreography, contributing to the movement and staging of the musical. His work both onstage and behind the scenes made him an important part of the production’s success.
