Our aim is to enjoy fresh air and sunshine in beautiful places, with congenial company. We are spoiled for choice with good walking in all directions from Preston.
Most walks are 4-7 miles in length. You can see the current Walk Planner if you click here, but this plan is always subject to possible changes. We email Walking Group members with full details of each walk so you can decide if it is for you. If you wish to be put on the Group email list please contact me by clicking here.
One of the things we particularly appreciate is that different members take turns as walk leader and we all get to visit places we didn’t know existed.
We offer walks on the First Tuesday and third Monday of the month. Members who wish to go on a walk must book in advance with the Walk Leader of the relevant walk.
Car-sharing is offered when possible. The extent to which this can take place depends on the willingness of drivers to offer seats in their vehicles. There is no guarantee that there will always be enough places to meet the demand. When booking a walk please inform the walk leader whether you are able to offer places or whether you need a place or whether you are travelling directly to the start of the walk. The usual meeting places are B&Q Bamber Bridge, postcode PR5 6BZ, and Fulwood Free Methodist Car Park, postcode PR2 3LT.
Contact: For further details or to join the email list please contact David Parker by clicking here.
Before attending any outdoor group meeting you must read the "Participant Risk Assessment"
Clearly anyone with Covid symptoms, or anyone living with someone who has symptoms should not join a walk. All of us have a responsibility for our own health and the health of others and we need to be aware of potential risks.
Dogs Policy Up to two dogs may be allowed on each walk, but the Walk Leader may decide to have no dogs on a walk if that walk is considered unsuitable for dogs. Members wishing to bring a dog on a walk should contact the Walk Leader or myself at least 24 hours before the walk. The dogs must be on leads near livestock. Any dog that misbehaves on a walk will be banned from subsequent walks.
