Group Leader: Ken Youde
We operate a sedate cycling group where lycra is not de rigeur! Yes we may go upto 16 miles on our jaunts but we take our time and proceed at the rate of the slowest cyclist. We always arrange our routes to visit a café where we partake of coffee/tea/cake/ice cream/fish and chips/etc. - basically, anything they have to offer!
We ask that you have cycled before but emphasise we are 'recreational' cyclists not budding professionals! A bicycle rack for your car would be a bonus as we sometimes venture further afield having done all the routes from our base at St. Cuthbert's.
This group is now getting full. Please email me if you would like to join.
If you are interested in joining this group and suggesting ideas for cycling routes, to contact the Group Leader Ken Youde, click here.
The group meets on the third Wednesday of the month through spring/summer/autumn. If the weather is looking inclement on the morning of the ride, check out the WhatsApp page to see if it is still going ahead.
Before attending any cycling group meeting you must read the "Participant Risk Assessment" - click here. All riders MUST wear a helmet and preferably some kind of fluorescent top.
