Preston U3a Creative Writing Group
Hello there, thank you for visiting our page.
Are you looking for a new interest, a hobby, something different to get your creative juices flowing? Have you thought about writing fiction for fun? Maybe you already do, but have no one to talk writing with. Never fear, our group will welcome you and happily chat about approaches to building a story and give helpful feedback on your work.
Our primary goal is to write fiction to the very best standard that we can achieve. This will be different for every participant, and I encourage all our writers to try new styles and methods in their work. Every month, a theme is suggested on which the writers will base their next piece of writing. A word limit of 1000 words or less is imposed to allow each participant to read their work. Subjects this year have included Gardening, Spring, Dinosaurs and Dragons, Artworks, and a Crime Story, giving lots of opportunity to have fun with words.
We enjoy a social atmosphere whilst remaining committed to the craft of Creative Writing.
Still interested? I'd love to meet you. See the link below to get in touch.
The group meets every 2nd Wednesday from 2-4 pm at St Cuthbert's, Lytham Road, Fulwood. New members are always very welcome, and previous writing experience is not necessary.
