Meet the Founders
She has been into politics ever since the 2016 debate, and now, serving as your 2025-2026 Press for Progress Chair is her way of giving back and showing youth across the nation that their voice matters in politics. Outside of advocacy, she is an avid musician, singer, actor, and hiker. Don’t be afraid to ask her for a coffee order or movie review!
Sofia has had a passion for fighting for what is right since the 2016 presidential election. However, she began taking further action in high school, allowing her to collaborate on Press for Progress. Outside of civic engagement, she is an avid bassist and singer, along with enjoying chai lattes.
Lucky has had numerous interests throughout his life, but one has been there longer than ever, and that is his love for politics. He started to learn about politics and political leadership at a very young age. Outside of politics, he plays water polo, acts, plays video games, and hangs out with friends.
Sohan has always been interested in politics, but gained a special affinity for activism during the 2024 election. He also loves filmmaking, and has written and directed short films before. All and all, he is very excited to create meaningful, impactful content. Outside of politics, he plays the saxophone, plays tennis, backpacks, and runs.
William is a rising creative and political activist who has a lot of prior experiences in public speaking and debating. He also loves to create digital art showing how he sees the world, and also to help spread the ideas of him and others. In his free time, he enjoys watching television, talking with friends, volunteering, and sleeping.
Danny has always been into the three P's, politics, photography, and potato chips. He is an avid photographer of nature, major events, and sports. In his free time he likes to relax with friends, watch movies, eat popcorn, and take walks.
Ashanti was born in London, but raised in Texas, and raised in Chicago. She joined Press for Progress to help youth write and exist boldly in political and communal spaces, to be informed, and to inform others about the world around them. When she is not "working," she loves to hike, be in the water, travel, sports photography, work with kids, and find new places to explore. She is also passionate about women's sports.
