It may be a better idea to wait 24-48 hours though, just to be sure you do not damage your new ink. Many bamboo tattoos do not end up scabbing, or have very little scabbing. If your tattoo has started scabbing though, you should avoid saturating it in water (washing it gently in the shower is ok).

For a proper start on your tattoo, make sure that you’re in ta good state and condition. Don’t go and get tattooed if you’re hungovered. It’ll be incredibly harmful to you and it won’t heal well either.
Make sure you eat something before and take some snacks with you if you know you’re going to be sitting for a long time. Drink plenty of water, and try to avoid heavily caffeinated drinks so that you don’t have an energy crash halfway through the piece!
Make sure that you’ve showered and cleaned the area for your tattoo before.
Try to enjoy yourself! Make sure you feel as comfortable as possible on the day. Take some headphones and choose a nice podcast to listen to, if you’re planning to zone out. Charge your phone, bring a snack and prepare with comfy clother to settle in for a relaxing session.
a. If you are on antibiotics we recommend to wait at least 2 to 4 weeks from finishing the mediation to get tattooed.
b. If you are wanting to get tattooed in the same area as another one you need to have a 2 weeks break before having more work done on it.
c. If you are sunburned you need to wait until the skin is fully healed.

We very recommend you being sensible with your tattoo, so stay out of the sun where possible. Avoid having baths (Showers are OK) or going swimming especially into the sea water. As tempting as it can be, don’t scratch or pick at it. This will damage the tattoo in the long run and can cause infections.
