About Me

Hello everyone! My name is Abby Herring, and I am originally from Carlisle, Iowa, just outside of Des Moines. I attended Central College, where I graduated with a BA in Social Science for Secondary Education. Initially, I began my teaching career in Montezuma, Iowa. I have taught a variety of English Language Arts and Social Studies courses for grades 6-12 over the last 6 years. My husband, Brett, and I recently relocated to the Rochester area with our family and I am excited to be able to teach the Preschool Experience classes at K-M! I am fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom the rest of the time to my 3 young kids: son Hayden (4), son Parker (3), and daughter Joey (9 months). In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and playing with our family’s St. Bernard, Bill. I am thrilled to be joining K-M Community Education to provide educational opportunities for the young learners within this district!
